The material of this replacement keyboard feels solid and well-made, and it was straightforward to install into my Lenovo ThinkPad T480. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end for me.After installation, I noticed some strange behavior with the keyboard. While typing quickly, the keys would sometimes stick or freeze, and I would hear a "ding" sound—similar to the sound you get when clicking on an unresponsive window. I ensured that my word processing software was the only application running, checked Task Manager to confirm there were no performance issues, and verified that my CPU and memory had ample resources to handle typing. Despite this, the problem persisted. To troubleshoot, I double checked the cable connections to ensure they were seated properly, and they were securely in place. For comparison, I replaced this keyboard with my old one, which I was retiring due to heavy cosmetic wear from extensive use. The old keyboard never exhibited these issues, so I know the problem isn't with my laptop itself. It's possible I received a faulty unit, so I can't say this is a universal problem. However, another issue was the backlighting. There was noticeable light leakage in some areas, making the illumination uneven and inconsistent.I appreciate the ease of installation and the overall feel of the keyboard, but the functional problems make it hard to recommend. If these issues are resolved in future units, this could be a solid replacement option.

Every 2-3 years,, the keys on my Lenovo T480 show wear. Dome of the writing wears off and on quite a few keys the matte finish has become shiny or even wear down to a slight depression. This keyboard fit perfectly and restored the original appearance and function of my T480 keyboard to its as-new state.Changing the keyboard requires a partial take-apart of the machine. It is not hard to do, but those who have no experience with this should first review the T480 Lenovo Service manual which provides detailed instructions and is freely downloadable from the Lenovo web site. This restoration of the keyboard to an as new condition takes about 20min,for about $30 it is a bargain.
