Good for the money, and easy to use. Little bit of weight, but not bad

My family likes this little stove for starting quick fires where we don't have full fire pits. We haven't cooked on it but I think that would work fine if you were on level ground. The quality is good and it folds very small which is pretty cool.

This red camp stove is well built, better than I expected for the price. Made out of quality materials. The setup is quick and easy. I got the smaller one and is great for one or two people for cooking or boiling water. Works well with charcoal. You can even heat a small tarp shelter with this thing for survival. A little on the heavy side but doesn’t take up much room for ghb or bob.

I have both the larger and smaller versions of this Redcamp foldable wood stove and I love them both. They are substantial -- so not for backpacking -- and easy to unfold and use. The larger one is perfect for glamping and we keep the smaller one in our car for emergencies. I bought a makeshift insert for pellets and that worked okay too. I put a button magnet on either side of the door to keep it closed flush. Really love these. Highly recommend.

The picture shown is my first use. I think it is very sturdy. My cast iron weighs a good bit and held it up no issue. It can put out some heat also. Breaks down to a small size. Easy to assemble. My only issue as some have said is the door is a little finicky with the handle but I just leave it open while cooking to let the air flow in and keep feeding the fire. The door works fine just a little twisting and turning needed to get it to latch. Overall it’s worth the money, It’s durable, and will last a while from what I can tell.

Some reviewers are still trashing this because they say the ash tray doesn't fit. Yes it does- it goes in the SIDE (either side). The seller should include a little note to that effect in the package.(This review is for the large size.)Pros:+ All stainless steel (It is stated to be 304 stainless, which is non-magnetic, but a magnet sticks to it, meaning it has a higher iron content than 304 and may rust)+ Two sizes and grill, potholder or both available as options+ Folds into a compact size+ Comes with a nice zip up carrying bag with handles+ Easy to set up and break down (30 seconds at most- the hardest part is getting it out of the bag)+ Versatile: you can use wood sticks, charcoal, other flammables+ Can be used as a stove, grill, or fire pit+ Seller thankfully now removes the plastic film prior to shippingCons:- Relatively heavy for a portable stove, so not the best for backpacking. (I think it's a plus, though, if you're car camping or using it at home)- Some edges were left very sharp in the manufacturing process- Ash tray is flat with no sides - needs a baking pan, firepit, or other ash catcher under it- Metal ring to open side door doesn't stay where you can easily grab it when hot - flops back down against side of stove- The potholder does not fit with the rest of the stove in the carrying bagMy particular unit came with a slightly warped grill with one of the welds broken. In addition, I spent an hour or two filing and sanding the very sharp edges. Some of the outer edges are turned down but others where pieces were cut out are very sharp. I recommend taking the time to carefully file them down- leather gloves recommended. Other mods: I added an aluminum spacer to the door handle ring to give it more resistance so it will stand out from the side and make it easier to grab (see con above). I put a bit of high temp grease on the door hinges since the door was difficult to open and close without holding the stove in place. I also cut a piece of welded stainless steel 1/4 inch mesh to fit the bottom so that I can burn wood pellets. The large stove just fits in some 9x9 cake pans, which helps catch the ash and makes dumping it easier.

I bought the smaller of the two because I am a one pan kind of man and the lighter the better. I read a couple reviews saying that they love the small one and it is more efficient which is probably the case. After using this for every meal for a couple days to feed 4 big dudes including myself, I can say that the littler one of the two is the perfect size. I would recommend going with either the pot holder option, or for the more crafty, the cheapest option for the small one and make a pot holder. I got the pot holder and it’s poorly designed. It slides around a bit and cripples this little beast. Making a little pot holder like the one in my picture allows u to use even bigger pans on it because the flames really lick out around the corners. In summary,Small one is just right.Well designed.Very capable.Pot holder or diy pot holder recomendedBuy the small one. No need for anything bigger. The larger one is not even worth the couple extra bucks or the extra weight of it.My pot holder is made up of four 4”x1” pieces of 1/8” plain steel. The Four pieces are welded together with a 2” square in the center.Once you have the ninja star shape, you lay it onto the stove, mark where the holder-arms line up with the stove, and then grind out a notch 1/16”x1/16” on the holder.Unlike the pot holder that u can get with it, this does not move around. Also, to seal the holder, I heat it up real hot in the fire and then spray some wd-40 on it. I learned the hard way that it makes an indestructible waterproof seal. Like seasoning on cast iron but for non food, high-heat items.

A little heavy but well worth the price. Mind the hinge pins and make damn sure it’s cold before packing away. It goes well with my Kelly Kettel. Should last a long time makes me happy!
