We've been waiting for the wind to tear this thing off the side of the house, and it hasn't yet. That's gusts up to around 40ish, with it luffing around pretty bad. It's since been put into better order. Luffing is a sailing term that means "whipping around all over the place and making noise and etc" as far as I can tell.

These shade sails cover a lot of area, were easy to hang, look good and seem like they will be durable. I ordered sage color and it arrived as sandy/tan in reality. I'm good with this. I used a stainless steel hanging kit to install them. They should be easy to remove in fall, for winter storage. I have sloped the sails to shed rain, though it does drip through anyway, so won't puddle in them.

I have it hooked between two posts. It really provides shade from the hot sun on our backyard in the late afternoon. The posts are 14 feet apart and the 6 x 10 sun shade fits perfect in the space.

This gave good bang for the buck. First mounted in July of 2020 in Austin TX, took it down only twice, once in 2021 for the Snowpocalypse (AFTER it had 4 inches of snow on it) and once more in '23 for the Arborgeddon ice storm (again, forgot to take it down till it was covered in half an inch of ice). Very good shade and breathability, tight enough weave that light rain rolls off. Tough material, the only weakness is the edge stitching - that thread disintegrated slowly while the woven seat-belt poly edge banding and the actual shade fabric held up very well. Eventually failed at one corner during a high-wind thunderstorm, after the hems were mostly flapping loose. Will probably replace with the same thing, $13 a year for four years is pretty good. Would be nice if the stitching was as tough as the rest of it.

Just like a good quality tarp or car cover, the most you’ll get out of these nylon-type products will be 2-4 years. The way this one is built, it looks like I’ll definitely get good use out of it. We are in the middle of building out our patio and didn’t want to spend the money on a full-blown deck cover with framing, joists, plywood, and shingles. I built a very simple frame and installed this sail, instead. It saved a lot of money and still looks nice. It’s a windy day today, and it seems to be handling it well.

This isn't a true rectangle which would be okay but the corners extend quite a bit out and make the actual shaded area much smaller. Keep that in mind. If you are okay losing a foot on each corner then go for it otherwise order a bigger size or buy one that is actually a rectangle if that is what you need.

It was easy to set up and the dark brown blends with the patio set and our swing. The corners are well done, and make it easy to attach to the hook. Hopefully this canape will last for a few seasons. Great price!

We have a patio in TX that gets almost full sun. No patio plant on the planet could survive, plus we did not want to sit there ourselves. Tried a larger super expensive umbrella shade that was too bulky to open and close all the time and got absolutely wiped out in storms. After only one season we weren't home to take it down in a storm and it got demolished, Got this as a cheaper shade as an alternative and it has worked out great! Used it all spring, summer, and now Fall. The shade does great in big wind/rain storms and was easy for us to install using a separate hardware kit we also got on amazon. During rainstorms water does collect on top but it lets the water drip through, we don't sit out in rainstorms and I think being able to drain water is probably a plus for most types of uses. But if you need to keep an area dry, this is not for you. But yes to shade and holding up in wind.
