Replacement Window for BMW E36 Convertibles. This is a new BMW window built by me from all new components. An E36 window is a zip-in window with black canvas trim on the outside that you tuck your top into. I have made thousands of BMW Convertible windows. The E36 window fits all BMW 3-series convertibles (318, 320, 323, 325, 328 and M3) from 1994-1999. (Not for Z3). This window is MADE IN THE USA. The plastic that I use is DOT approved, higher quality and longer lasting than OEM BMW plastic. The OEM plastic can be scratched with your fingernail. This plastic won't easily be scratched with your fingernail and is more flexible, meaning that it should be more resistant to cracking. A lot of people ask if they can do replace the window themselves. The old window unzips and the new window zips in. I supply the zipper slider necessary to do the operation (zipping and unzipping), and the glue to seal the window. You will need an assistant, and it should take 1-2 hours. It has been done in as little as 15 minutes.

The window fit in perfect and was not hard to install I did take the time to mark where the old zipper started and ended to help with getting the new window in. Whole process only took myself and a helper about 30min to install only down side is there is a mild blur through the window when looking in the rear view mirror not sure as to why otherwise I would have given a 5star review

First your original window failure is probably not only due to age, but your zipper has come undone in spots. Set some time out of your schedule to do some sewing. I had to sew my zipper on both sides and reinforce in other areas as well. This process takes forever, get some good needles because you're going to break a few. Get an extra tube of cement glue you're going to need it. The kit does not come with the little clamps BMW part# 54318134598/599. Use both zippers one to bring everything together and other to make sure the zipper stays together, sew the beginning and end of the zipper so it does not come apart.

My last one from Emiata (same seller but last time I bought it directly from his website) lasted 7+ years. I think that's about the best you are going to get in terms of replacement products for a 25+ year old car. He also responds very quickly to emails if you were to have an issue.

I am going to have it put in by a pro. It looks a little more complicated than it appeared on Amazon's site.

RearPlasticWindowForBMW E36 Convertible 3/4" wider than old window. Window appeared as advertised. Had extra trim material sewn in, old window did not, had rubber finish ring. Instructions vague whether extra trim material goes inside or outside existing top. We put inside. Adhesive tube appeared adequate, but only 1/4 full, not enough to complete job. Used 3M #77 to finish. Messy install.

Window fit great and the car looks amazing! Fast shipping!A second person holding the window up while I got the zipper started was a definite necessity. I tried it a couple of times like the instructions said to install it with the top up a few inches, but the 3rd time left the top attached to the windshield. 3rd time was a charm, the zipper went without any issues. The post office handled the box like wild monkeys and lost the install kit, but the seller sent out another install kit immediately. It did take awhile though, there were several attempts where I stopped at the first corner because it was obvious I had the window alignment way off. By 3rd attempt I mean zipping the window all the way around. Little frustrating but definitely worth the money and effort.
