The images separate sizing but height and age. I went based on height and it’s a great fit.The image looked a lot more study. I was hoping for plastic. Overall, it’ll get the job done

I love the fit but the protective padding for your ankle does not stay in place.

Purchased these for my son, and purchased the size based on the explanation and chart. They are a little bigger than I expected, it's not terrible but we can't use them right now, once he grows a little they will be a good fit. Since my son is in soccer most of the year he will get to use them soon so it's not a waste of money. Other than that they seem very durable and lightweight.

At first without taking them out of the package, the shin guards were about an inch longer than my daughter’s original shin guard that she’s been using since 6 yrs old. It looked small, so I was ready to order the next size up. I was reading in other reviews that the s/m fits 10-11 year olds perfectly, so I gave them a whirl and as you can see in the pictures in the side by side comparison is that the newer shin guard comes up higher on her shin because the ankle guard is longer, making the shin guard sit higher and covers more area. The ankle guard is well padded and the shin guard has a stiff backing that is covered by cloth. My daughter is larger than others on her soccer team, so this S/M fits her at 5’ tall at 124 lbs. I returned a couple of other shin guards, because they were no bigger than her original ones when she started at 6 years old. Hope this review helps someone else because I was clueless.
