Absolutely the best belt there is. I always had trouble keeping my pants up and my belt never seemed to do the job even after adding more holes. But this belt does the trick.

As an engineer I am always looking for "a better mouse trap," which is basically an improvement to a product or a flow that is so disruptive to the status quo, that it ends up being a game changer to the entire industry. The more simple the change, the more impressive the result.Ratchet belts are a great example. They are easy to use, simple in design, and now add the ability to easily interchange buckles and belts. I also like the full face designs and patterns offered with ratchet belts. The best part of ratchet belts is the ability to quickly and discrete change the fit of the belt by a 1/4"; as compared to a full 1" on a traditional belt with fixed holes. If you sit down, you can easily loosen the belt; when you stand up, it is likewise just as easy to tighten the belt. It is a little harder to be discrete when tightening the belt because it does make a soft clicking sound that most people would not notice. The sizing for this belt is similar to other ratchet belts, and the quality appears to be on par, if not better than competitors. I like the color and feel of the leather on this belt. I also like the buckle pattern / style on this particular belt. They both go good together.Highly recommended!

BELTROAD Ratchet Belts for Men Leather Belt for Pant Jeans (hollow buckle-black)Ratchet belts are great. Why be limited to holes that are an inch apart? This is adjustable to any fit.The belt seems well made with a good sturdy strap. It looks classy and works well.I've seen a few reviews with people complaining about assembly. You literally insert the belt end into the buckle and push down a lever - it's that easy.A great thing about ratchet belts is that you can cut (the non-ratchet end) down to the perfect size for you. I recommend cutting in small increments so that you don't overcut!P.S. Make sure you find the release lever before cinching this down on your waist. I got stuck for a minute. LOL.

Before I get to my main complaint -- this is a decent belt. The stitching is actually alright, although I cannot speak to whether or not this is real leather. The buckle holds itself in place well, and it feels nice and secure while having a unique, stylish, yet decently casual look. But what on Earth is the point of offering multiple styles of belt, if what you're given is a 52" belt that you are then instructed to cut yourself? I do technically see the benefit in this, as belts are generally made in preset ranges that may not fit you as "perfectly" as you may want, but this really felt like someone spit in my face. I did figure it out fine (though be /very/ careful of the "teeth" of the buckle -- they are very sharp), but not only was it mildly obnoxious, I find the illusion of choice here to be insulting.

But the face of the belt is just textured to look like carbon fiber, and is actually a steel plate. Therefore if it gets wet, it rusts. Now, I don't mind that it rusted a little. I use a belt for its function, not its form. The functionality of the belt is great. The belt itself is sturdy, and the ratcheting surface is nice and secure inside the leather. The buckle solidly connects to the belt after sizing. And once the belt is placed through and it tightens up, the ratcheting mechanism works well and I haven't had a single slip of the teeth. This belt stays in place and keeps your pants in place at the same time.

I am a big fan of ratchet belts and have been using them for about two years. The only issue I have had is that they seem to run short when I order them. Not here. This belt is true to size. I appreciate that you simply slide the belt into the buckle and get a custom fit with the auto-lock system. To release it, just push the latch, and it comes off. These belts feature a ratchet system, allowing for fine adjustments for a comfortable fit. And the removable buckle lets you cut the leather to your ideal size. I have two belts from this company, suitable for formal and casual wear.

So this is a really high-end style ratchet clasp and pretty good leather for WAY less than my dad paid for his. Granted, he bought his last one at a pro shop, so I'm sure the $90 would have been closer to $70 on a shelf in a department store, but still, same quality belt, same slick look, same easy function for way way cheaper. I was ready to have to adjust the size as well, but it really is almost exactly correct for the advertised pants sizes. Definitely highly recommend this if you're looking for this style of belt.
