Your cart is empty. Upgrade your existing ESPME to an ESPME3 With WiFi. This kit come with everything needed to convert your ESPME including the new larger ribbon cable and the backplane assembly that it plugs into.
The panel alone will not plug into your existing ribbon cable due to the different pin configuration which is why the new ribbon cable and backplane assembly is required.
Replacing the backplane assembly is a matter of removing only 4 screws, swapping out the old with the new and replacing 4 screws.
The station wiring doesn't even have to be removed from the modules. Simply unlock the modules and slide them downwards.
Installing this kit saves a lot of work compared to removing the entire controller, elctrical, and station wiring.
When the ESP-ME3 is installed with Rain Bird’s optional LNK WiFi module, users can manage irrigation with Rain Bird’s free mobile app. However, the ESP-ME3 offers new app features not available with any of the company’s other residential and light commercial controllers.
“The ESP-ME3 takes our existing WiFi functionality to a new level,” Harris said. “With this controller, users can enjoy faster app speeds; advanced flow sensing; Cycle+Soak programming for more efficient watering on slopes and compacted soils; and improved manual watering options.”
Thanks to a new, larger, back-lit display, the ESP-ME3 is easier to read in dark or dimly lit environments. The ESP-ME3 also features a dial-based control panel that aligns with Rain Bird’s other “ESP” controllers, but with fewer dial positions for simpler, faster programming.
“When we began developing the ESP-ME3, our goal was to make it the most versatile controller in its class with features our competitors simply cannot offer,” Harris said. “When contractors, distributors and specifiers look at the ESP-ME3, we want them to view it as a whole solution that answers the needs of more customers than any other residential or light commercial controller on the market.”

Okay, I had a 10 year old Rainbird sprinkler controller Worked great, I wanted WiFi connection, Well I could have paid for a whole new controller and have to do complete install, Then I found this Rainbird makes a conversion to the existing controller. Wow, The install was easy, about 30 minutes now I had WIFI control of my irrigation for half of the price

I had a couple of questions on the install. I emailed the seller per the instructions provided with the product and had comprehensive responses quickly. Installed easily and works great! This is the best upgrade to your irrigation system ever.

I have to say that I was a little concerned about doing this. After reading the reviews and sending the company an email or 2 about wiring and some of the functions they were very helpful, and I decided to bite the bullet. My fears were very unnecessary, and the installation went very smoothly. I was concerned about taking a system that was working and replacing it but based on previous reviews and I have to say it was as easy as everyone said. This product worked on my first attempt and did not have to start over. I would say if you are considering replacing an existing system that works and are concerned about it but would like the ability to go Wi-Fi then this is the product to go with.

I was searching all over for what to get for my rainbird sprinkler to add wifi app based capability. I had the ESP-ME non wifi and was kind of at a loss. I needed the ability to run a program A and B consecutively. For me this was 100% plug and play. The value for money was fantastic at $200. All the parts separately would have been over $300. The installation was straightforward. I switched out all the parts, plugged it back in and it connected right to the app with no issues. I did have to reprogram programs A and B, but the app made it 100 times easier.

I had one of the ESP-MEs that didn't have the "WiFi ready" note on the front. On looking at a couple of options, this looked to be a cost-effective way to get that functionality and it did work mostly as advertised. I did have to unhook a couple of the relay units because there wasn't enough slack/space to remove the relay modules much less get the board out so it's probably a good idea to label those wires. Before removal.
