If I could give this 0 stars I would. Worked great for the first cleaning, then won’t work anymore. Poor quality and manufacturing.

I think the python is a good product… HOWEVER, if you are like me, and run 100 feet of hose attached to your syphon to water plants , as apposed to emptying your tank water into a bucket, this product will NOT WORK. I visited every hardware store and Amazon to try and find a barb coupling in order to connect the hose to the python… no success. Unfortunately, python does not make an attachment. I was disappointed to have to return it.

This gravel cleaner is a great gravel cleaner, and their is no arguing that. This gravel cleaner is large and is great for my 55 gallon, but when i do my 80% weekly water change, when the water level gets lower it will loose some of its suction ive noticed because of its size. The pump is complete trash and I do not recommend the pump it comes with, it will not give u the suction u need if u have gravel, but sand should be completely fine, mine has gravel and the pump sucks so I use my syphoning techniques to get it started, and the suction remains even when it get lower, granted still looses a bit of its suction power when the water is low. Got rid of the pump its in the trash now.

I got this to clean my 75 gallon planted aquarium and it works wonderfully.I also have a Python Clean and Fill system which I use for large water changes, but the suction on the Clean and Fill is not strong enough to suck up debris and, when it does, it quickly gets clogged. The Pro-Clean siphon kit, on the other hand, has incredible suction and can fill a 5-gallon bucket in just a minute or two (I haven't timed it, but it goes quickly!) Just a few pumps of the squeeze bulb starts the siphon and it easily lifts a high plume of gravel and pulls all the sediment into the hose while leaving the gravel behind. It also sucks up dead plant matter and siphons it away. The 16-inch tube is a bit short for my 75 gallon tank, but this is the largest size that includes the squeeze bulb, and purchasing them separately would have cost almost twice as much. If you have a tank over 55gal and don't mind spending extra, then you might be happier purchasing the extra-large 23" pro-clean tube and a separate squeeze bulb. If your tank is 20gal or smaller, get the medium kit instead - the large will probably siphon the water much too fast. One important tip - If you're cleaning out large debris like dead leaves in a planted tank, pull the black squeeze bulb off of the green connector at the end of the hose once you get the siphon going to prevent it from getting clogged. It can be easily reattached once you're done. If the squeeze bulb does ever get clogged, it is easy to disassemble and clean.

The Python Pro-Clean Aquarium Gravel Washer/Siphon is a great buy. The squeeze siphon is a huge plus in water changes. You insert the tube end into the tank water, and you put the squeeze end into a bucket and them squeeze and pump the water until the siphon takes. Very easy to use, and it works every time. It was definitely one of the best purchases I've made. They come in various sizes which is nice.Python is a trusted brand in the aquarium trade. I've used several of their products, and they work well.I recommend the Python Pro-Clean Aquarium Gravel Washer/Siphon because it works very well and very easily. The cost was not very expensive. It comes as pictured. You may also be able to just buy the hand pump and add it to your existing gravel siphon tubing which could save you a little bit of money as long as it will fit onto your tubing. The siphon starter pump on Amazon is listed here:

Works fantastic, but don't get this size for a 10 gallon tank. It sucks the water out very quickly. That would be great for a large tank, or if you need to empty yours small one fast, but for my small 10 gallon tank it sucks up too much water, too quickly so I don't get much of the rocks cleaned out before I have to stop and add more water. I never replace more than about 15-20% of my water at a time so this isn't right for me. But for a large tank it would be perfect.I don't want to order a smaller one so I will make a modification to the large tube so it wont work so efficiently. But it sure is nice not needing to suck the water up the tube and into your mouth to get the suction started. AND, it doesn't run right back out if you raise the end too high.

I have owned and used this for almost two years, I have the "large" size. This works very well and quickly to siphon the water from my 55 gallon and 37 gallon freshwater tank I have also used it in a 15 gallon tank. The water begins to flow out of the tank and into a bucket with very little effort by squeezing the black rubber ball rapidly about 10 times. I have regular aquarium gravel, the type that comes in all different colors and is sold everywhere. The large diameter tube cleans it well if I stick it down into the gravel and use and up and down motion. A TON of dirt and junk I didn't even see there always come out when I vacuum the gravel. The gravel itself does not travel up and out the siphon, it only goes up the large tube about 4-5 inches at most due to its weight and gravity. I use it more for water changes than gravel cleaning. I have stored it outdoors on a rack for almost two years and the flexible plastic tubing and larger hard plastic "washer" tube has not cracked, discolored or become damaged. I consider it high quality, it does not leak and hasn't broken in any way. The flexible tubing is very long, at least 6 feet which is nice if you have a tank that is on a tall stand and your bucket is on the floor.
