Just installed this today, and I rate it 5 stars for now. Nice clean fit and function, the step snaps up and down into place very easily. Just a little play in the retracted position, I don't think there will be any issues with that. Install went well, however it did take some patience to get the frame bolts to go in smoothly as the step assembly obstructs a clear view of the bolts, so you are operating by feel. Not unmanageable at all, just awkward. As I said, bring your patience when you begin the final assembly process. The step assembly does flex a bit when I step on it, but certainly not more than I thought it might. As I weigh 200 ish pounds I certainly won't be jumping on it, which would effectively increase my landing weight, but I think as long as I simply step up it will be robust enough to last. Hopefully the plastic step itself will be resilient for a very long time. As I review all the options for these on Amazon and even on other websites, they all look remarkably similar, I am wondering if they don't all come out of the same factory. I am wishing now that I had purchased the one for $20 less that had a lifetime warranty rather than this one, which only has a 1-year warranty. All that said, at this point I am super happy with the product, it performs as advertised and makes accessing my pickup's bed so much easier.

Seems pretty solid, but after everything was torqued to recommended specs there is a little bit of flex to it when standing on the step. Also be sure to have a 5” ratchet extension for install.

I installed this product this morning on my 2019 Tacoma and it took about one hour. The instructions are very clear and the step works as intended. The OEM part through Toyota is about three times the price of this one so counting labor I would have had to pay for the local Toyota dealer to install it, I figure I saved myself about $400! One prior reviewed had an issued with the bolt threads being shredded on tightening the bolts. I did have trouble aligning the bolts through the bracket into the linkage assembly. Suggestion: spray WD-40 on both parts so when you think they are lined up properly you can turn them by hand to make sure before you go cranking everything down with the socket wrench. I was headed to cross-threading them a couple of times before I got the idea for the WD-40. Once I was able to confirm alignment by hand-tightening, I was good to go. I alternated tightening from one bolt to the next to keep the alignment correct. The step works as intended and will be a life-saver for getting into and out of the truck bed.

When I received my step I was excited to do what looked like a simple installation. During the assembly process while torquing the to assembly bolts to 33 ft LBS, neither bolt would tighten. Disassembled and discovered both threaded holes had ripped out the aluminum threading. Most likely I will have to return the step unless the seller can offer some help.
