Had a pretty bad tailbone injury a few weeks ago but an determined to learn to snowboard. Got these and fell on my butt a few times and pain was minimal despite already being injured. Wish I wouldn’t have gone cheaper in the first place. Spend the extra money its worth it

I use these for snowboarding, wearing them under my ski pants. Mainly wanting them for the tailbone protection; the other padding is mostly unneeded for me.They also provide some comfort when sitting on the chairlift, which might be cold or wet.I am 5'11", 165 lbs, fit, 33" waist, and the size MEDIUM is pretty much perfect for me. Maybe even a little on the loose side, but that means they are very comfortable. Only fit concern is that they sometimes slide down due to looseness. Any size bigger would have been bad for me.Skiers, who are likely to fall on their side (unlike a snowboarder) will benefit from the hip pads.

I use these while racing motocross as an elder. Only complaint is they do not breathe well.

I like everything about this protector except the tailbone support is too narrow. It is thick enough but it's so narrow that when I tried to fall, it landed right on my tailbone, and felt like I was hit.there. please make the green part wider like a lot wider and it will be perfect. Everything else is perfect. But since I have a long tailbone, this is a deal breaker. Have to return it unfortunately.

I have gotten and reviewed a quite a few of these crash pads over the last year and I'll say this, all are not created equal. This is no exception. This is far above many others, and honestly, it might just be my favorite.I have another crash pad similar to this in the sense it uses a harder PU layer for specific points, that one being only the tailbone. This one, however, has three, tailbone and both hips, with softer padding in other areas. (See pics) This combination works, and the fit is amazing for me. I'm not sure what specifically it is, whether the sizing was just right, or the stretch of the material is just better, or if the Velcro front strap is just the superior form of closure and sizing. It just works. The materials are top-notch. They stretch great and allow a much more comfortable fit than my other ones. These fit so good and they are so much more light and breezy compared to the current one I was using. The padding works so well and the placement is perfect for proper falling. I haven't used a single crash pad, before this one, that facilitated that specific area, perhaps for that very purpose, as well as this design, so good job to whoever designed this thing.I love it. Legit. I have zero complaints about this one. It just works. A very high recommendation for this crash pad.

Granted I am fairly small so these were just simply too larger. They seemed like they would probably offer good protection, but I never used and ended up returning because of sizing

I am over 6' with 36" waist, slim build and the Large size are a good fit. The measurement chart is wrong in the Waist measurements for the size. If you are a big guy, solid build, the L may be too tight and there is no XL size listed. There is lots of stretch in these shorts and the velcro close system does give a good amount of flexibility in the waist. I did not feel any binding when moving around doing twists, squats, bends, etc. What I really like in these shorts is the thick padding that provides plenty of area protection. The green EVA padding on the tailbone and the sides is superb, plus the other pads feel very resistant (not just some foam like other shorts). Since protection tends to slide around when you hit the deck, its important to have protective covering all around the shorts and these ones deliver.OK, so to the question "Will these shorts make my butt look big?" the answer is Yes, and thats a good thing. Seriously, you should check your overpants size before heading out.Of course I hope to never need this protection, but being older and wiser, I feel a lot more protected and confident on my dirt bike with these on. If you indulge in hard impact sports, give these a try. I still gave 5 stars even though the wrong info is given in the size chart.

I've used these protective padded shorts on a few snowboarding trips, and I'm really glad I did. They've saved me from bruises and discomfort from all the falls I've taken. The padding is ample without being bulky, allowing me to move freely while still feeling protected. They fit well under my snowboard pants and stay in place. Overall, these shorts are a great investment for anyone looking to add an extra layer of protection while snowboarding.
