I had been searching for this product for quite a while. They are predominately used on dirt bikes to cushion the excessive handlebar vibration especially when off-roading. Unfortunately the regular streets where I live are even worse than off-roading!I wasn't sure how these worked or what they were even made of. Then I found a link to a video on one of the competitor's listings that explained everything I needed to know.This fits on the short brace bar near the instrumental panel. While the video said I'd need to cut the dense foam center to install it, thankfully, it was already cut.The thickness of my brace bar is a little thinner than what this unit is designed to fit on. Fortunately, I happened to have some Velcro cable straps and some zip ties. Both of these fit nicely around the inner foam of the Pro Taper, and allowed me to over tighten them so the unit couldn't move or side around.I decided to use 3 straps on each side and one in the middle (7 total), then, once I installed it, I added the zip ties between the Velcro straps and on each side of the center strap (6 total), and pulled them REALLY tight.Now, the unit fits VERY SNUG, and ALL THE VIBRATIONS have been removed. This bike is my wife's bike and she had to wear thick gloves to try and cushion the vibrations.The Pro Taper WORKS SO WELL and makes the ride so comfortable that, a few times she forgot to put on her gloves before we drove off, and she DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE until after we stopped!Now, only the outer cover with the name is a little bit loose, but it's only purpose is decorative, and as advertising. The extra strength Velcro keeps it from opening up, but it cannot be adjusted. So, I'll either get some red zip ties or paint two of the black ones I have and use them to secure both ends of the cover.FYI, this product comes in two lengths. Measure your brace bar carefully. Only measure the parts where the space between that bar and the bottom is full. Do not measure the parts where the space gets smaller because the unit will not squish to fit in the tiny widths.I chose the red color because it matched the bike color. It actually looks like it was original equipment. That, plus my tightening adjustments, have, so far, kept the neighborhood kids from trying to steal it.The final adjustment to the cover will make it VERY difficult to remove.Incidentally, the ProTaper company also makes custom handlebars and custom grips. Good information if someone you'll know takes their dirt bike competitions seriously.

I love this red pro taper bar pad, it came in the original factory packaging. A little disappointing that Protaper doesn't include any stickers or anything. But overall it's a strong bar pad yet it is soft and squishy. Which makes you the best choice for your dirt bike. Not only did it come in two days every was exactly as described.
