PRIER residential hydrants are the finest quality available. Made from heavy cast brass patterns, copper tubing with stainless steel and aluminum accessories, these hydrants are designed, built and tested to last for the life of your plumbing system. PRIER stems are made with heavy brass ends and are secured at the handle and at the seat with long wearing ACME threads. Since we secure our stem at both ends of the valve, we can manufacture a hydrant to virtually any length and not encounter problems associated with stem seating, rattling, or noise under flow. PRIER offers eight different residential models with as many as seven standard inlet options, twelve standard lengths and options for custom lengths and plating finishes. The new brass end piece has incompatible threads with the fixture. Luckily it is just sweated on to the copper tube and all I needed was the tube. Should have been fully compatible but it is not. Of I needed everything I would have been forced to return it.

The 400 Series stem assembly (Prier 123-4095) was was a perfect fit for my 12-inch hydrant and it was an OEM replacement part. Before you place an order, make sure you know what series hydrant you have. The replacement stem assemblies for the 300, 400 and 500 series look very similar. However, if you look closely, they are not the same and they are not interchangeable. Besides coming in different lengths, you will find that there are different stem assemblies within a series. For example, the 400 series "Prier 123-4095" is a replacement for hydrants manufactured from 2006 to 2013. If you have a 12 inch 400 series hydrant manufactured after 2013, this replacement kit will not work for you. Lastly, you will need a slightly smaller screw to attach the handle. If you purchase a replacement handle "630-7965", you will notice that the screw is pointed and slightly smaller than the original. Unfortunately, all these small differences between Prier hydrants cause a lot of confusion when ordering replacement parts.

Unusable. Go to a reputable plumbing store and get a real one. Claims to be OEM, but I really doubt it. Done with Amazon and their 3rd party selling where they have no responsibility for the transaction or quality issues.

Easy to install replacement stem. There are (2) 400 series Prier Sillcocks. One was produced from 2006 through April 2013. Considered "Old Style". Then Prier came out with the Diamond series. Still a 400 series. Very confusing and the plumbing supply house didn't know there were two 400 series valves. They are not interchangeable. This stem fits the model with Prier stamped on one side and Mansfield stamped on the other. If there is a Diamond stamped into the metal this won't work. If the faucet leaks into the handle when the water is off the stem is bad. If it leaks from the faucet when the water is off the internal washers need replacing. The bib washers. If it leaks from behind the handle when the water is on the plastic nut behind the handle needs tightening. If tightening doesn't fix the problem. Change the graphite washer. You'll need to purchase the rebuild kit.
