Has this mic recommended to me when I was talking about getting a Shure. This gave me the exact same quality at a fraction of the price! It's been going strong with no issues!It is a bit heavy, so make sure your boom arm is attached well.

I've used the Presonus PD-70 in my setup for over two years. This thing is a heavy tank of a mic, but it does sound good. It's nearly identical to an SM7B with both the high pass and presence switches on (the PD-70 has no switches itself). It does take the "big muff" windscreen for an SM7B if you need more plosive protection and to dull it down a little to get that podcast voice sound. The single yoke works great. There is a good bit of handling noise and does not make a great stage mic for live music, but if you have a strong enough boom to hold it and don't touch it then this will work great. I'm using this as my daily driver for all Zoom meetings through a Behringer UMC204HD and it handles the mic just fine with the gain at 3 o'clock no problem. Recorded female vocals with it through a Presonus Revelator io24 into a Mac and sounded great. For the money, you can have two PD-70s, a Revelator Io24, and cables for around the price of some other broadcast mics. Bonus: the Revelator has onboard processing to eq your mics if you take a little time to set it up. Double bonus: the Revelator has some pretty advanced routing if you're teaching over Zoom or Twitch streaming. I know this is not a Revelator review, but it does pair nicely. I bought two more PD-70s because I got tired of borrowing the one from my daily workstation.

Very impressed with this right out of the box. I do with it has a two sided mount, but overall build quality is very good. After some eq work, I compared it with my SM7b and was pleasently surpirsed at the sound of it compared to a much more expensive mic. Highly recommend.

I like the design and tone better for the price point. It also looks more like the SM7b, if aesthetic is important. The proximity effect is much better in this than the Podmic and the tone is much less harsh. Been using these daily since 2020, and they hold up.My only issue is that replacement foams are hard to find, I had to contact presonus customer service and they put together an order for me.Weight is comparable to higher priced broadcast mics, so not all boom arms will hold horizontally easily. They need to be cranked down tightly, but that’s a boom arm issue. The mic is sturdy. The XLR jack is standard snug fit. All black is a slick look and the presonus emblem is easy to hide

This is really up there with other dynamic mics you might consider, like the SM7B, at a fraction of the cost. I’m really impressed! Sound quality is great - clean signal, minimal design. Tone might vary based on voice and there’s no adjustment on-board, but great to route into a preamp or boost with OD on a DAC.

I bought this first without buying any In Line Pre Amp. I have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen. I highly and 100% recommend buying a Pre Amp with it. I had to put the whole gain all the way up without the Pre Amp and yeah it worked but the gain was so loud, static, etc. I mean unless you have a more powerful Audio Interface you should def be okay. The Scarlett Solo DB maxs out I wanna say to 45DB? I suggest 55 or higher unless you wanna pay a little more to get a Pre Amp. I bought the Fethead and it works wonderfully. I mean I've only had it now for a day, tested it out for a bit and my friend in discord/stream said it sounded more louder and clearer then my old AT2020 XLR. Other than that, the mic is a TANK. Looks good, sounds good. I don't have any complaints right now. If anything changes I will update the review.

You heard me correct (pun totally intended). I literally just compared this £90-ish microphone to the Shure SM7B, a whopping £300 microphone.It's ridiculous to make such a ridiculous claim, isn't it? Well, for someone who's experimented with a tonne of microphones, including but not limited to: this one (PD-70), Shure SM7B, MV7(X), EV RE20 out of the dynamic broadcasting bunch, I have to say that this microphone is brilliant value for overall money. I personally have sensitive hearing and I don't know if it's just me, after all audio is entirely subjective to what people prefer, but I feel this is overall a much better microphone to the SM7B, since I entirely found that it has a lot better presence overall in comparison. I do like the sound of the SM7B, but I never kept mine because I felt that it could get insanely muddy and too dark at times, where my experience straight out of the box with this has been extremely fun and easy-to-use.I rate it 5 stars because I find this to be an easy killer to the "younger brother" of the SM7B, the MV7(X), but of course it has some flaws to it. I don't appreciate that Presonus or other manufacturer hasn't made any shockmounts to help reduce unwanted noise such as vibrations, but I'm fairly happy with the sound quality to put that aside and still rate it highly.Although I haven't used the software that Presonus gives, it is a great resource for those that are new to audio and need help within the post-processing section. It's an amazing resource if this is for beginners or just people like myself who just like messing about with this sort of stuff.My rating? 99/100. The 1/100 over being the shockmount. That is how high I give it.
