Like all of our products, the Prelude is made of the finest solid brass but half the weight of similar sized zils. Perfect for studios and teachers to provide to their new students or for individuals just starting out. Thin and featherlight, weighing only 1.7 ounces for a set of four cymbals (one for each thumb and middle finger). 2-1/16" in diameter. They come with 12" of strong elastic that can be cut and sewn or pinned to fit your fingers.

Compared to my other zills, about half the weight. Just don’t have the resonance of the heavier ones.

I have a professional style zil from saroyan before, so these are ridiculously light compared to those. Alas couldn't afford the 60$ to replace, so I'm stuck with these until that changes. That being said these actually have a beautiful ringing more of you hit the edges only. I will be practicing as such a light grade is much more difficult to play believe it or not!

Arrived quickly and just as described. Since they're so light-weight there is a bit of a 'clomp' down if I do a stand alone beat, but I knew this going in. If you go the Saroyan website you can sample sound all the zills so you know exactly what noise they will make. I have another pair of zills that are heavier which I have found difficult as I'm just a beginner, this are nice light, perfect for a beginner!
