The diffuser is used to create exposures of even density over the entire of film. Use the diffuser by placing it flush against the front of the lens and exposing through it. The light that passes through the diffuser and on to the film will create an even density across the of the film. Flash straight on if without our diffuser causes the light to go forward only and creates a harsh shadow behind the subject. The flash with our diffuser installed and tilted at 45 degrees gives a nice soft wrap around of light with a soft shadow behind the subject. This fits cleanly over the head of your existing flash, no need for cumbersome attachments, hooks. Try us and see the difference. It disperses the light over a wider area for a softer, more balanced and effect than you didn't use before. Cheap, rugged, convenient improvement for your built-in flash photography. Everyone needs one of these in their bag. Of course, an elaborate off-camera set-up is better. But when you are on the go at an event, shooting hand-held with the built-in flash, these diffusers make your subjects look better.

by buying more than one (they're more than inexpensive enough), pinning the harness into the diffuser, and LEAVING it there. The bands I photograph don't complain about my Lumix FZ80 flash hurting their eyes, and the results are spectacular!

This is an inexpensive way to remove overpowering flash from your images. works well for portraits as well as close up photography. It reduces the distance of the flash, which would be obvious, but all in all worth the money if a sifter effect is what you seek.

It gets the job done but it broke on the first try of switching out the puffer diffuser. Luckily it is still usable with one arm and is affordable to replace. I would still repurchase.

I’ve never written an Amazon review before but, I HAD to warn you. This is about what I expected it to be and yes- this is garbage. This diffuser is lower quality than the toy in a McDonalds happy meal. I had it on my camera for less than TWO minutes. First of all, it made no appreciable difference to the few photos I snapped. I took the white diffuser off of the black holder that clips into your hot shoe to try a different color and well, look at the photos. Instantly snapped - first time. For seven bucks, what do you expect? Got robbed. Don’t let it happen to you. There are several diffusers of this type on Amazon. Maybe you’ll have better luck with a different brand - but, not this one.

Nice idea.For the opaque filter, it seems to give a decent balance of distributed light.I haven't done any hardcore tests on the light falloff, but for general use, it's a decent diffuser.My only complaint is that the dimensions on the hot shoe mounting foot are a little tight and could be dimensioned smaller.I would still recommend this diffuser though. It's very cost friendly.
