The power steering was starting to go out on my daughter's 2000 Subaru Outback, started leaking through the Rack & Pinion. Tried to use a product to seal the leak internally, but failed after a few weeks. I didn't want to buy a rebuild or pull one from parts. The effort/labor it takes to replace the Rack & Pinion is more than this part costs, I wanted a new part. Solid power steering Rack & Pinion for our 2000 Subaru Outback. No problems installing the part. The packaging was solidly 'ok', was packed well but the sharp ends (from the part) could easily break through the end of the box if roughly handled during shipping.

Everything was great except the hard lines. Re-use your stock hard lines. And use the orings that came with new rack.

THE PART CAME IN A BOX WITH TWO HOLES MADE BY THE INNER TIE RODS. THERE WERE NOT PROTECTION FOR THE THREAD AT ALL AND NO DOCUMENTATION. THIS PART JUST BROKE IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT.

Rack came well packaged in a heavy duty box. Install went well, no leaks. The only thing I wish they would have included is new O rings for the lines that get changed out. Otherwise the rack is tight and responsive. Very happy with the product.
