After opening the box I found that the wood and paint was chipped on mostly all of the wooden pieces. I assembled it to see if I liked it and it’s a sturdy and great piece for my kitchen, but the scratches are so visible I’ll probably return it.

I got this for my hubby for Christmas as he’s always wanted an island in the kitchen. He really likes it a lot and it fits perfectly in our square kitchen layout. I took a few days and seasoned it beginning immediately after assembly with the cleaner, oil and beeswax. It’s so handsome in the middle of our kitchen.Update.3 months after receiving this product the sides started showing deep cracks. This item is no longer usable or safe.

Would be a five-star rating, but the baskets are flimsy and assembly was tricky. For assembly you need at least one additional person. The holes didn’t align in one corner so I had to drill a new one. One of the legs were also uneven and I had to glue a small block to the bottom to even them out. Otherwise it’s a good, sturdy product which looks beautiful in the kitchen. I will update as it gets used more. I coated the baskets with a latex spray to hopefully increase durability.

I'm extremely happy with this little island. I live in an older home with a tiny kitchen and little storage, so this is perfect for me. It offers much more storage than I had expected. The drawers are deep and perfect for linens and hot pads. It's just the right amount of functional workspace without overpowering my kitchen. It's very sturdy and attractive, and was easy to assemble by myself. I would definitely recommend this island for those who live in older homes with small kitchens.

Finding this island ended a long search for an island that would fit in our small kitchen, be affordable, and complement our cabinets and countertop. It is of good quality, was easy to assemble and is sturdy. The only flaw was one of the screw holes for anchoring the bottom shelf was not properly aligned. My son will be remedying that by either drilling a new hole or by adding an L-bracket, as it will not easily visible. Like another rater, I chose not to hang the utensils and may add a towel bar instead. We could not be more pleased! My husband, who did not see the need for an island has conceded that it "completes the kitchen". As for me, I am now happy that I can have a work space that allows me to see the TV in the family room as I do food prep.

I have searched far and wide for the perfect island for my kitchen. This is it. Useful and beautiful! I used to use an average of 4 cutting boards while preparing meals. Not anymore! It is the perfect workspace to prepare a salad, carve a turkey, pour a martini, chop vegetables, sort mail and I can't say enough about those generous baskets! This unit makes my lovely kitchen even lovelier. One problem...it gets a bit wobbly after a few months. My husband had to add two braces to shore it up, now it is very sturdy.

I had been eying this kitchen island for probably six months. All the reviews were positive and I'm happy to say that it lived up to the reviews. My husband and brother in law put it together easily in an hour (I would recommend doing it with two people). It is such a stand out island compared to anything else I researched (and I researched islands A LOT). It provides maximum counter space without taking up too much room in my relatively small kitchen. And it's just beautiful looking.The only negative about this island is that it took three tries to actually buy it. The first two times I ordered it I waited a couple weeks before receiving a message from the seller that they were sorry but the product is unavailable. That was really annoying, especially if you're in the market for a kitchen island NOW. However, I like this island too much to give it anything less than 5 stars.**One more thing, there are no stoppers on the drawers, so if you pull them out enough they just fall out of the island. Just something to consider if you have small kids underfoot.
