The new starter was very easy to install, there are 4 screws on the cover plate, and 3 bolts on the top of the engine, that's it! All in all, it took about 5 minute to completely replace the starter. Once on the mower, the starter works exactly as expected. There is no lag in the cord, it is not hard to pull and works just as well as the original. Better to spend $15 to fix a perfectly good mower than have to spend $300 for a new mower.

Came in the mail and slipped it right on where the old one was located. put everything back together and the mower started with the first pull. I have used the mower three times so far and everything still seems to work just fine. This was a lot more economical than paying $100 for an original replacement piece from the original manufacturer.

It installed quite easily and so far in one mow, it works.But comparing to OEM (which broke only after 12+ years) it is clearly on lesser quality. The handle is just knitted against plastic, whereas OEM has a metal insert. The cord itself is thinner.But it’s also $40 less than OEM, so it balances out I suppose.
