Stamped steel, fits together fairly easily. The edges are sharp, be careful. You have to do some wiggling to get it together, and with the sharp edges, you can get cut easily. Wear gloves if you can, I might sand the edges down or run a deburring bit on it to smooth.Disassembles completely flat and fits into a pretty decent carry pouch. The pouch seals very well with a velcro lip. This is important, as you don't want a soiled firepit to get the rest of your backpack covered in soot. Good design. Takes almost no space in your pack.
