These are perfect for our kitchen lights over the sink. Price is a bit high but worth the investment. They last a long time.

I love the fact that these bulbs do not shatter. They provide good brightness for my needs in the home bar. Unfortunately they are a little bit pricey.

I was so disappointed when I inserted this bulb and turned it on. The light was weak and I was sure I had made a bad purchase. However, I went back about 5 minutes later and the light was shining brightly and I could see clearly. Apparently this bulb just needs a little warm up time. Now that I know how it works, I am satisfied with my purchase.

Great candelabra CFLs! I love the protective coating over the CFL. I bought these through Amazon for $15.XX. Saw these at Home Depot the following week for $10. I should have shopped around, but I would definitely buy these again. They are brighter than LEDs I bought for the same use.

I was trying to buy a LED bulb when I bought this.I got a ceiling fan for my bedroom, and even though the home improvement store place will sell you one of two styles of ceiling mounted led fixtures, a year later you still can only get ceiling fans with incandescent bulbs. So after looking at several choices on Amazon, I finally land on this one. Thinking it is LED.The bulb does have this rubber like coating, that obviously doesn't burn or melt, so that it has less of a chance of breaking, and that if it does break, nothing is getting out. So that's interesting and probably good. But this is a CFL so it has to warm up.This is in my bedroom, and as I have a home office elsewhere in my home, I only go into the bedroom to sleep. So I rarely use the light. (Which is why it is infuriating the incandescent burnt out after 6 months on nearly no use.) And when I do turn on this light, I have to wait. It starts off with this horror movie in a church gloom. Super depressing and eerie. But that wait is too long. Generally if I need the light, I am looking for clothes to wear or something, and it takes twice as long for the light to get bright as it does for me to find my stuff when I can see.And I really don't want to waste that much of my life standing there doing nothing waiting for a light. So I will most likely buy an actual LED bulb and put these 2 bulbs in the closet.

When I need a light at night, I am a big fan of the classic slow start CFLs. These brighten quickly, but do not blast my eyes when I click that switch. Once at full brightness (half a minute or so), the color they give off is good for a CFL.These have a safety factor as well. If the glass on a CFL breaks, they give off toxic mercury fumes. These are encased in soft silicone. Even if you can manage the break the inner glass tubes, the shell will remain intact and keep the mercury inside. If instant on is what you want, get an LED with a very high (90+) Color Rendering Index. A lamp with a CRI of 93 makes everything look natural.

Works well. Takes a few seconds to warm up but best price for this kind of item.

Perfect for our 5-year-old's nightstand light. He knocked it over a couple times and broke the old CFL. Like other CFL lights, it takes a little while to warm up to full brightness but nothing out of the ordinary. Otherwise, great purchase!
