I love the dispenser amount control so I get just what I need consistently. During installation, it was hard to find a good place to mount it in my garage. I wanted to put it into studs but could only arrange it so one screw went into a stud. I had to use drywall mollies for the other three screws. This was not sufficient and the dispenser started to lean after a couple weeks. Then when I pushed the lever the whole canister of hand cleaner popped off making a terrible mess. There does not seem to be a good way to get the canister of hand cleaner onto the dispenser without spilling at least a half a cup. I've tried tipping slowly or fast or medium speed. I don't understand why they would not think of something that would stop it from slopping out when you need to turn the whole thing upside down with the lid off. And why they have you poke a hole in the container after it is up and in place. Why not put in the screwdriver and then place it on the dispenser and then remove the screwdriver. The whole thing seems backwards to me. For that price they should make it so that the dispenser will rotate 180 degrees (or at least 90) and apply the canister when it is open end up (or at least horizontal) then rotating the dispenser back around for dispensing the hand cleaner. Also something to hold the can in place for that process and would stabilize the canister after it was back in the dispensing position would be worth paying twice the price. Perhaps hire an engineer?

This is only the second one-star I've given in almost 10 years.Sent an email about the improper fit of the hand cleaner container and the dispenser to ITW and received the following."Unfortunately with the dispenser the lip from the container is not a tight fit. The best thing to do is to poke vent holes into the bottom of the container after it is inverted, and then place a weighted item on the top so that the pressure does not lift the container slightly."(Name withheld)ITW Engine Repair | Senior Product Support Specialist

Like many other reviews, the pump doesn’t accept the hand cleaner bucket. Leaked all over and wasted a new bucket of cleaner. Don’t buy this product.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical, but after carefully inspecting the the soap tub, soap tub lid (that interestingly showed a place to cut) and dispenser, discovered that the you need to physically cut a hole (approx 1 1/2 inch) centered on the top of the tub lid, reinstall the lid and then place it on the dispenser. The paper instructions are not that clear and I would consider “poor”. IKEA instructions are much better than what is provided with this product. The lid adds to the stabilization of the tub and no additional support is needed to keep the tub in place. I do admire the ingenuity of some of the pictures of other reviews, but not necessary. Whammo, easy as pie. I installed a NAPA brand (5105), 4.5 lb tub with this dispenser and fit as designed even though it was not listed as an “approved” Permatex type on the box, it appears to be universal. Hope this helps. The only design flaw I see is that it requires two hands to effectively use.

I was concerned about the seal using this with the GoJo 4.5 pound canister, but I followed the very clear directions to install and haven't had any problems so far. Also no leaks or drips after a couple of months of use.

I originally answered a question about whether or not this works with the Go-Jo tubs. I had stated the fit was loose but in reality, there is an inner ring on this dispenser that almost perfectly fits the Go-Jo tub of cream hand cleaner. In fact the tub is just slightly bigger in diameter than the ring on the dispenser but if you take a utility knife and slightly shave off a small (maybe an 1" or 2" long) sliver of the tub it will fit perfectly.

The other two Amazon customers take note: this dispenser works BEST with [...] , refill # 25104. Bought this, came in today and worked flawlessly. No leak, screws on securely, and amazon has a good price on the gallons, heck, you can get a 4 pack and get a discount. Not too much to say about operation here: push the big round knob with one hand and your other hand below the dispenser nozzle, and you get a perfectly sized amount of permatex for almost any hand washing job, 2 presses should cover your hands and your arms. This dispenser succeed where almost any other dispenser fails: solid enough construction to handle pumping the very viscous permatex solution.Bottom line: If you do very messy stuff, like me, Permatex is about the best stuff around (besides straight solvents like toluene and the like) for cleaning your hands up. This dispenser makes it super easy. Solid construction, only downside is no screws were included, but the kind you would need depends on the material you're mounting into.
