Some reviews mention using this for large djembes. If you are a heavy hitter like me, and play standing, this might not be the best, as it tends to “sway”.. I find the Gibraltar to be more solid with a 14” Remo (although I also use a strap on the Gibraltar in addition to the clamp, to make it bombproof). It is probably better for players who are shorter or who play sitting down. The application I’m using it for is a Remo Tubano, with which it works well while standingPearl could have made it heavier-duty, but they didn’t, so just be aware of the limitations..The general design is fine.

I have a Remo 16" djembe. I figured right away I needed the best stand available but was still concerned that it may not be enough. After I figured out how to properly tie my beast to this tree, I couldn't be more satisfied. Quality is above and beyond my expectations. Thank you to all who produce and provide "Pearl" products!

It wasn't cheap but it holds my 18 in Remo djembe solid as a rock.
