Love this machine has easy to adjust resistance and very smooth movement of the chain. This machine makes working out fun again.Upon receiving the machine I did have a faulty monitor, I reached out to the company and Rissa got back to me within 24hrs after briefly explaining the issue they were able to send me a new monitor that arrived within a week. Overall dealing with the Customer service with this company I have to say they were one of the easiest and most efficient company that I have dealt with. The whole situation was professionally dealt with in a timely manner ensuring my machine wasn't down for a long period.

About 15 years ago I did some rowing on a team for a couple summers. I enjoyed it, amazing workout and a lot of fun in general. As part of that, at the facility we'd train on Concept 2 ergs when not on the water, and I ended up finding a used one around then for home use. That thing was built like a tank and gave me an all over body workout, some of the best shape of my life. Eventually though, I just kinda got bored using it at home with it and no real coaching or anything to keep me as motivated. I eventually moved into MMA training for a number of years, it got used much less and sold the rower for more than I paid given their reputation and demand, but I'd always regretted parting with it.Fast forward to now, as I'm getting older, still love fighting, but it is very tough on my joints, especially my hands and I was looking for something that was as good of an all over workout, but with much less impact and my mind went back to rowing. My wife and I have already been using the Peloton for biking (great cardio but not full body), and I saw they had rowing classes as well you could pull up on the app. This worked really well for my goals and what I wanted to do, it's engaging and different every time I get on the machine and it keeps me interested and from getting bored like before. I'd looked into another Concept2, but the prices are crazy and have actually gotten worse. I was bummed out but started to look into other options and stumbled upon this unit. I couldn't be much happier!!While still not cheap per se, it's basically half the price of a Concept2, and with any discounts or amazon points it was next to nothing. I'd seen some people complain about the display and it not counting meters correctly. To be upfront, I can see how that would be an issue depending on the type of training you're doing, but I haven't looked closely at that aspect of it as its not something I'm focusing on. Working in the Peloton app, so far it's only seemed like I need stroke rate overall and to be able to change the resistance, both of which seemed accurate and I've had zero issues with. Outside of that, only other major measurement is time rowed, which can be tracked a billion ways. I've been using the unit the better part of a month and it's been great with no problems. Honestly, it really feels like it came off the Concept 2 line and they slapped different labels on it. The machine itself feels super sturdy and substantial, the pull and resistance levels feel exceptionally close if not spot on to the Concept2. The seat felt a little softer than the Concept2, but that's not a bad thing at all. Handle feels similar if not the same. The rest? I'd guess about 99% identical... The frame is rock solid. The only thing I've seen that felt "lesser" was the display, which again, 100% fine depending on what you're doing. And the only nitpicky gripes I've had are the decals are super cheap, and it's a little snug connecting the rail main part of the unit if you break it down for storage, otherwise though... can't say enough good things. If you're going my route though and and looking at it for just workout purposes and are using something like the Peloton app with it or are focused more on heart rate, resistance, strokes and time it's perfect. If you're competitively rowing and need those absolute spot on metrics (especially distance), it pains me to say this as it's soooooo good across almost all areas, but maybe spend the extra money on a Concept2 or a similarly regarded unit.

I’m 100% thrilled with this rowing machine. I’m leaving a thorough review because right now there are only 53 ratings - 93% excellent - for this rowing machine on Amazon and it absolutely deserves a lot more.I initially planned to buy a water rower because my Chuze Fitness gym - nearly always crowded and tough to find a parking spot (I mostly use my membership to swim) - has 2 rowers and they’re both water rowers. However, I spoke with a very helpful employee on the floor, she said they’re buying only chain rowers now. She pointed out that a chain rower can’t leak water (something I was worried about) and you don’t have to replenish the water or treat the water for bacteria/mold (which I hadn’t realized were required to maintain a water rower). She said they’re buying only Concept 2 rowers which she strongly recommended - so the reviews saying this rower is highly similar to a Concept 2 really caught my eye. She also said the motion of a chain rower is much smoother than that of a water rower. Everything she said was spot-on.Delivery: I spent $19 for “in room of my choice” delivery, well worth it since I’m off-street and I was putting it in the basement. The rower came well-packaged and cushioned, everything arrived in perfect condition.Assembly: very clear directions and not much to it. See photos of the 2 assembly instruction photos. I’m a 60 year old woman, I make my living on a computer and consider myself fairly 3-D challenged. 😂 I assembled this rower by myself, somewhat slowly, with no problems. On Steps 1 & 2, you really need to make sure you fasten the screws securely, there shouldn’t be a gap between the bottom of the screw heads and the metal part underneath.I saw a couple reviews saying a lot of parts were missing; I have no idea what those reviewers were talking about. Here’s a complete list of the parts (refer to my photos):- the mainframe is in 2 pieces- the front stabilizer (the thing with 2 small wheels, so you can tip up the rower and easily wheel it around)- 2 metal brackets (“supporting clips”) that you fasten to the front stabilizer- the pad holder and 2 screws to attach it to the top of the monitor- 2 heavy duty D batteries - there’s a screw already attached to the back of the monitor, you remove that screw to insert the batteries- a piece of cardboard with shrink wrap that contains the 8 screws you need in Steps 1 & 2, and 2 tools which are the only ones you need (2 Allan wrenches, as to the larger one you just need the screwdriver tip that’s on one end)I saw a review with a photo of a 2nd piece of cardboard shrink-wrapped with an additional tool and hardware, but mine didn’t come with or need those, so maybe this rower has been updated since then.Performance and comfort: this rower operates like a dream. Reliable, extremely smooth, quiet, even movement. The seat and foot pads are secure and comfortable.Monitor: The row stroke count and timer will be useful. As to reviews that say the monitor isn’t reliable or accurate as to actual expended effort, I haven’t tried it out much yet so I can’t comment other than to say that I base my workout performance on results, not detailed statistics so the monitor isn’t a critical component for me.Quality: this rower is rock solid, the mainframe is very strong metal, the chain and pulley system are well-made. As one other reviewer mentioned, the stickers are cheaply made. You could easily peel them off. But hey, are you buying a rower for the stickers? I did buy the 2-year extended warranty - it’s not expensive - and I’m glad I did, just for the what-if reassurance, but the odds of me needing it seem low.I have osteoarthritis in my right knee due to an accident years ago. Bikes and rowers are easy on the knees. I’ve always enjoyed using a rower at a gym, whereas I dislike exercising on a bike. I decided to buy this particular rower because of the photos, details and most of the reviews. I am exceptionally pleased with this rower and recommend it without hesitation.

I've only used this a few times, but so far I'm happy with it. Many years ago I owned a cheap rower and it was ok, but over 10 years ago I got to use a Concept II for a while and I knew I wanted a rower like that. This one appeared to be a decent knock-off and so far I'd say it is. I wouldn't say it's as solid as the Concept II I used years ago, but it's close and I wonder if the new ones are as solid. The assembly for this was fairly simple as you can use the Allen wrench they provide. Mine did have a slight defect where a bolt hole didn't quite line up, but I was able to make it work. That's probably the only real negative and if I wasn't relatively handy it could have been an issue. The unit seems to row nicely. The resistance doesn't seem to go quite as high as I remember from the C2 (and I was in better shape years ago), but it's probably enough for me. If you're a serious rower you'd probably want the C2 or maybe the new Rogue model. IIRC the C2 had a less comfortable seat than this one so that's a plus.It would be nicer if you could just fold this up to move out of the way, but it does separate and go back together easily enough. All in all I'm glad I spent enough to get a really solid rower for about half the cost of the C2.
