This is my second ozone generator for my cold plunge. The first one I purchased was a combo air and water generator—much larger and not as easy to attach to my cold plunge build. I bought the first one because it was recommended by a popular cold plunge YouTuber. That product would leave the water smelly after a month if not used daily or twice daily. I discovered that while it claimed 28,000 mg, that was for the air output, and the water ozone was only 500 mg. That unit cost more than twice as much as this one.I use this unit to clean my cold plunge two or three times a week. There's no smell other than the clean, sanitized scent of ozone when I open my plunge in the morning now. It cleaned water that is now months old. It's much smaller and easier to attach to the plunge. I love my setup—this is a great addition. You absolutely want to purchase a generator with a timer so you can walk away knowing it shuts off. You also don't want to breathe the ozone in while it's working or after cleaning the plunge. Most of the ozone breathing hazard is supposedly neutralized in the water, but I've experienced some irritation from opening the lid too soon or while the unit is working. Again, the timer is a must.Lastly, I don't like the plastic nipple that attaches the hose to the unit. If it breaks, the unit is rendered useless. It's a small plastic piece that breaks easily. I wish there was an easy way to replace this or a better design.

We have a similar unit that costs twice as much but has a timer & readout on it & an inside cooling fan which is a great version.Just plug this into a smart plug & set a verbal timer (& don’t overheat it) & you have a comparable device that’s much less costly. You can use a separate timer outlet, or just wait & unplug it if technology is not your thing. We use these to make sure hauled water is not contaminated before we drink it in a ceramic dispenser. Sometimes municipal water spouts get dirty (or your dirty hands touch a lip or lid), & it’s just a few minutes a 5 gallon jug to help assure you have the water quality you expected. These will wear out plastic tubes & fittings, but those pieces are not difficult or expensive to replace. The insides are reparable as well, but for this cost ($35.99 - 10%) it might be less work to just keep a spare. A good diffuser helps but it’s not a deal breaker, something good to add on for better efficiency. Running these more than you need to will wear them out needlessly prematurely. But if you have a bigger volume, run it 10 minutes, let it cool, run it 10 minutes, let it cool. When required to run longer, a small cooling fan added can help extend the life of the inside components. We tend to mount these on walls or secure them tightly such as on a shelf to keep them less noisy. 2-3 minutes in a 5 gallon jug always tests good in our experience. We’ve had our fair share of hauled water not passing, then passing after treatment so it’s just better to take the couple of moments to treat before using. We like this simple machine, & think most folks would get very good service for several years running it a couple of hours a week before integrity failure…then replace the hose & joints, run it a few more years. Keep a spare, buy new parts, keep your water optimal. We’d order this again.
