No matter how i preheat and step down they only work 2 times before crumbling. I even preheated and stuck in the Vacuum chamber on my second one to see if it's trapped water, still crumbles.

I have used this to process scrap aluminum, and it works fine. A bit smaller than I expected, but that's my fault for not reading the description I guess.

Used this crucible successfully to melt zinc over a portable propane camp stove. It worked well and was fairly resistant to thermal shock. I would always turn the burner on low and wait till it was heated up then crank it up all the way to melt the metal. Holds about 275mL to the very top.
