These and similar designed "protectors" are not sturdy enough for changing motorcycle tires. The Motion Pro design works very well."

Bought these to change tires on my KLR650. Worked great and appears durable. OTC stuff is usually good quality. Only gave 4 stars as I have not used other brands.

Did exactly as expected. Held up nicely and saved my wheels! Would not consider changing a tire without these, highly recommend these!

Overall wasn’t to impressed. Rim guards themselves were well made I guess. But they are not very durable and have already ruined two of three. They also made more difficult to change the tire

Got these to avoid scarring up my wheels when I installed new tires on my Harley. They performed exactly as they were intended to and did ease up the task. Yes, you can R&R a bike tire without ruining the wheel but these makes it easier and I was able to fly right through the project without worrying about scratching up the wheels. They stayed in place until I moved them and did no more, or less, than they were supposed to. When I first saw them I recognized their value for the intended purpose and using them simply proved it by quickly installing a set of Dunlops on an 08 Harley Night Train with out any damage,of any sort, to the rims. Good purchase

These are very hard to get to stay where you need them and are very weak. The first time you get resistance on your spoons, they will push through like cheese. After every time you push a bite over you have to make sure the spoon is not on the hole you just made or you will scratch your rim. My brand new forged supermoto wheels have about three places with paint missing now where these gave up.

Mounted a 120/70-17 supermoto tire with these and it did an excellent job. However when removing a subsequent tire these things had stretched alot from the forces of the tire iron and would walk off the rim when cranking on the tire iron putting a scratch on the rim. They should have made them out of a more resilient/harder material. If you're looking at buying another brand I would highly recommend getting a pack of 3 instead of 2...they at least got that part right. Also the strings are nice for getting these on the rim when the tire is partially on.

Worked well, protected my wheels. At one point I dropped one inside the tire and ripped the cord off trying to retrieve it. I had to start over. Threw them in the trash afterwards because they were all marred and chewed up.

Pretty simple device. 3 piece set of rim strips designed to slide over lip of rim to protect it from tire tools. After receiving these, I changed 4 tires on 2 bikes. 3 mag type wheels and one chrome spoked wheel. The protectors fit great on both types of wheel. They have strings attached so that if they slip off and fall into tire, they can easily be pulled back out. I used the strings to sorta of tie them to the rim so they wouldn't slide off the lip of the rim. That is actually a slight issue. As you pry against them, they have a tendency to roll under the rim lip and fall off into the tire. After 4 tires, they are a bit scarred up, but better them than the rim lip. Even with the scars, they still function great and will last through a few more tires I'm sure.

These eventually break, but they all do. Good price for the set of three.
