The advantages of a rim-type sprocket are that (1) the rim can float on the clutch cup's spline, allowing the rim and chain to align with the bar, and (2) the rim is replaceable, extending the overall life and economy of the sprocket system. Bearings and other specialized replacement components are also available from Oregon to help keep your sprocket in service for a long time.

I perchised this for my 1991 stihl 034 as im in the middle of rebuilding it and wanted to upgrade from a sper sprocket to a rim sprocket... if anyone's wondering, the slite looseness of the rim Sprocket it self is normel as it's part of the design oregon came out with, it helps keep your chain lined up with your bar for less ware and tar on your chain and bar.. it's not ment to be a snug fit.. I thought I'd mention this as I noticed one reviewer complained about it not being snug.. this information i mentioned is right from oregon them selfs... In the long run it's a good upgrade and less expensive to maintain, you just replace the rim sprocket when it wears out instead of the hole clutch drum as the sper sprocket is permanently attached.. I highly recommend this if you want to upgrade from a sper sprocket to a rim sprocket like I did

Fits my MS310 perfectly. I was very impressed when I saw a new e-clip and washer was included as well.

Easy set up and replacement. A very nice way to up-grade your original spur sprocket to a rim sprocket. Oregon products are OEM level replacement parts in terms of fit and quality. My only concern was that the E clip provided with the Oregon product was thinner than the original Stihl E clip. This allowed for a slight increase in end play on the drum. Otherwise, no other issues and a very easy and convenient conversion.

Universal fit for stihl 290/310/390 chainsaw, gives you the option of using .325 or 3/8 pitch chains. Purchased Oregon because they make sprockets and rims for stihl.

Fits my Stihl MS390, but I swapped the 3/8 sprocket for a .325 7 tooth sprocket (p/n: 11892). This will fit any of the Oregon brand rim sprockets with the SM7 spline. I have this style of sprocket assembly on all my saws and I've yet to have an issue with one!The clutch drum was not out of round and was consistent with the quality of other Oregon products and the OEM parts I've used in the past. The package contained the drum, sprocket, retainer, and e-clip. I was able to use my original clutch bearing since that was the only part not in the box.
