As usual for OnStage, the item is made very well. It fits very nicely and easily on over the grill of the SM58. That said, the foam is not super thick, so it may not be apt for heavy wind. For plosive reduction or light wind, it's a great value. I prefer this thickness as it is unobtrusive.

I use one screen on each of my handheld recorders for wind protection over the xy mics, a Tascam DR-07 MKii and a Zoom H4essential. The screens fit with a little patience and care. Once in place they stay on solidly. I am not recording in strong winds, but can say the screens protect against noise from incidental movement and light air circulation, which would be very audible in the recording without screens.

It's a good like windscreen. Cheapnand good for the price. Only complaint was it was flatten down in the packaging and you can see the creases from it being flatten. Not a big deal, but it is visible if you care about that, might not happen to all of them but it happened to the one I received.

You might be tempted to buy a cheaper item or one that has more filters per package. But I don't believe they will be as densely woven as the foam of this filter. I'm really happy with how dense it is and how little air or breath sounds are allowed to reach the mic. I use this with a cheap Behringer dynamic microphone, and it fits snugly, stays on and works well. I don't have to use a traditional pop filter screen or anything. I alternate between close singing and singing about a foot or so away from the mic, and it does the job well no matter what. Sometimes the simple things can bring you joy, and this one does it. Highly recommended.

This fits on my mic and cuts out the almost non-existent wind noice from my desk. It does seem sturdy, and I don't expect it to tear any time soon.

i don't really need a windscreen as my plosives are almost nonexistent. i just wanted a RED one to use as a target so my voiceovers are more constant. plus i like the way it looks.so if you have a Shure MV7(+) it'll fit fine, but doesn't provide as much 'buffering' as the stock one that comes with it. if you're on camera streaming and you want to be a little different, get the color of your choice. red looks awesome, too bad i'm not on camera very often.

Purchased to use with a Shure SM58. It's OK but not great. The foam is a good color of black (not too grey, blue, or purple but a true black). The foam is a good texture if that word describes the open cell nature in that it's not overly rough as in holes too big to be a rough texture but it's not smooth like closed cell foam. It's a good balance between those two extremes. The fit on an SM58 is fair. It moves around a bit rotating on the wire mesh windscreen and as a result is often askew or slightly tilted and not straight on. (If crooked pictures hanging on walls bugs you this may be a constant bother.) Then, at the bottom, the skirt doesn't taper to the mic body very cleanly and just kinda hangs in mid-air around the mic body as if it doesn't know where to go. The over-all look then becomes a bit awkward and unpolished to the mic. It would be better if the bottom of the foam were sculptured to angle in and taper off more. As to discoloration of the sound, I do sound for TV and can hear a bit (just a bit) of muddy tone with the windscreen on vs with it off, but only with headphones. When used with my QSC system there's no detectable difference on or off the mic over the PA to my ear. As to effectiveness, yes, it blocks wind including breath pops for a tangible difference with it on the mic. So overall it's a good purchase just with a few limitations. It's cheap though. I'm constantly amazed at how costly windscreens can be especially name brand ones made for specific models of mics. So here's a lesser-cost alternative that works but with a couple shortcomings.
