My old cord for the system had gotten cracked and frayed. I play on the PSP still so keeping a cord around is worth it.

I bought this to try and get a replacement for my nephew's old psp charger, at least until I could get him a much better one. To our dismay, it did not function at all. It only costs about 5 bucks so I was expecting somewhat shoddy equipment, but the adapter might as well be, and probably is, a plastic toy. Not worth the purchase at all. Returning it asap.

At first I thought that this was broken as the light only worked for a couple of seconds. I have two systems, a 2001 and 3001. This works for both of them. Just be sure that you place this in the charge port all the way in. I guess I didn't push it in far enough in the beginning (I didn't want to break it or cause damage), It was kind of loose. The second time around it started to work just fine. I've only had mine for a week so I can not comment on how long it will continue to work (weeks, Months,Years, ect.), But so far so good.
