Genuine Oetiker Clamps

Stainless Steel, Material no. 1.4301/UNS S30400

What is StepLess Technology?

Oetiker invented the StepLess ear clamp in 1979. The ear clamp’s special design eliminates steps and/or overlaps on the inner circumference of the clamp for a 360° leak-free seal. Because the tongue resides in a groove, the “tongue-in-groove” feature exerts pressure on the assembled parts over 360°, enabling the clamp to apply a continuous radial force completely around the connection’s diameter.

Mechanical interlock

The interlock is a mechanical system for joining the clamp ends to permit closure. Some interlock designs can be opened for radial installation prior to closure.

Clamp diameter

The following applies as a guideline: To determine the correct clamp diameter, push the hose onto the attaching material, (e.g. the nipple), and then measure the outer diameter of the hose. The value of the outer diameter must be slightly above the average value of the diameter range of the clamp to be selected. The listed size of the clamp denotes the inner diameter (id) of the clamp.

How to Install

These clamps can be easily installed using Oetiker Hand Installation Pincers (HIP). The HIP tools have been designed especially for pinching ear clamps quickly and easily.

Oetiker HIP Compound Action, Standard Jaw Pincer, Item No. 14100386

Oetiker HIP Compound Action Side Jaw Pincer, Item No. 14100387

Oetiker HIP Single Action Standard Jaw Pincer, Item No. 14100396

How to Remove

Ear clamps can be easily removed using Oetiker’s hand clamp cutter (HCC). The HCC tool is designed to safely remove ear clamps.

Please Note: The clamps included in this kit are not designed or intended for use in PEX applications. The sizing references for PEX clamps are not the same as standard Oetiker clamps. Oetiker PEX Clamps should be used for PEX applications.

These clamps work better than the 2 ear type.

I use this specifically for my late 80's BMW fuel system lines. They are period correct, have no carbon steel to rust, and clamp extremely tightly if you use the right tool. They can be a pain to remove and are one time use (unless you somehow can take it off without damaging) but hopefully that doesn't happen too often. I keep stock on hand at all times just in case I need to replace leaking or burst lines.

Provided one has the correct crimper, this design of clamp is really excellent for permanent connections. Fast and solid. I would not use this clamp if removal is often needed. Great clamp design, faithful manufacturing of the clamp. I especially love the smaller size. This type of clamp is great "extra insurance" for irrigation hose connections. I have used these clamps for barbed connections, but have not used them to clamp to fittings that do not have a barb or enlarged end. I would not want to use this clamp on fuel lines without checking with the manufacturer.

Great clamps for beer lines 1/4 and 3/16, make sure to get some 15.7 Oetiker clamps for your 5/16 CO2 lines. If you are working on your beer and CO2 lines do yourself a favor and buy Oetiker clamps the screw clamps and cheap clamps are not as good and you will have leaks or be replacing.

Great product. I am restoring a 76 Triumph TR6 and was having trouble sealing fuel and vacuum lines. I found it was due to dimensional differences between new and original hoses. I bought these clamps and they work perfectly. The original clips we were sized to fit original hose diameter. These look great and don't rust!

These clamps are the best for sealing tube to fittings. Not a single connection leaked.
