My original ice maker quit working and I couldn't figure out why. Finally decided to just replace it. Found this one at Amazon at a great price vs Bosch. Once I removed old one it was obvious why it didn't work anymore, but why? I think it got torqued when the tray got full. From now on I'll turn the maker off before it gets full. The new maker is the OEM part. Working great now and making ice. I accidentally broke the plastic frame that holds it in the freezer because I was unsure how to remove it even after reading what I could find. Actually pretty simple but not intuitive.1. Remove one screw holding ice maker door and remove door..2. Remove screw holding tray slider mechanism on right side of ice maker and remove by sliding forward.3. There are several stubs in the top of the freezer that the "frame" slides into (tab and slot style). On the right front stub there is a locking tab, it's about 1" back. Use a small screwdriver to gently pry down the tab and pull the ice maker and frame towards you about a half inch. It should drop down at that point.4. disconnect the electrical connector from the freezer plug, upper left.5. Remove the top frame from the ice maker by sliding them apart, again about a half inch, carefully (I broke one of the tabs on the frame, but did it because I didn't see the above locking tab and tried to force the ice maker from the frame without removing them together). Done in proper order it's not problem.6. Carefully work the wiring harness out of the frame, kind of tricky on the 4 year old frame. The new one ($40 shipped from Bosch) is much easier to work with.7. Reverse process to install.
