So I get this brand new 130 amp alternator, the inside of the box is all beat up so obviously this alternator has been bouncing around inside this box it took them five days to get the part to me I install it start the car it's charging everything's fine I take it drive it down the road it starts squealing like a pig I mean and you know how that embarrassment feeling you get when your car is making a ridiculously embarrassing noise that's what it was embarrassing brand new part so now same day ordered another one replacement cuz if I go to somebody else how do I know I'm not going to end up with the same problem file my complaint that's going to take another week I'm going to drive on this thing squealing around like a stuck pig until I'm supposed to send it back but I am pissed this is three times I've got to put the alternator that includes taking the old out putting the new in taking the new out putting the new in hoping that works... Addendum: it's been going on 3 weeks since they were supposed to send my replacement then I get notified that the replacement was lost they don't know where it is then they're asking me to send back the old one so now my car by the way the new one stopped charging so it's useless they want me to send that back so I can wait like another two to three weeks for another replacement meanwhile my car is down.

Oh the dreaded battery light lit up on my dash a couple of weeks ago and I knew the eventual outcome. Opened the hood and the alternator sounded like it had marbles in it. Fortunately, this Parts Player replacement was only one day out and fit like a well worn boot.To the Point or TL;DRFits a 2000 Ford Explorer LTD V6 4.0L engine like a glove. Need more? Plug fits, Nut/Bolt hub for battery line fits, Old Bolts fit, Basically, One hour of fun teaching the youngest one in the house how to safely change an alternator. AND, it isn't that sickly green color on the web page. Some Goods & No BadsThis really slid right into place. Torqued down the bolts, connected plug and battery line, ran belt over top, double checked everything, and cranked it. Ran it that first day for 3 hours or so on some errands and it never faltered or made a noise. All indicators are good. Like all things, we'll see. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hope it helps! All the best, Just BenjaminReviewed: Brand: Parts Player Cost: $99.95 at time of review.New Alternator Compatible With Ford Explorer Mountaineer & Sport Trac W/ 4.0L & 5.0L 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 AFD0045, 40014064

I replaced a bad alternator on my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4.0L SOHC. Everything lined up as it should, the wires plugged in the way they were suppose to, and the pulley was in line with the other pulleys. For the price it seems like a great deal. Almost $100 cheaper than the brick and mortar stores. I've only driven a few miles on it so far, but it seems to be charging fine and I haven't found any issues with it (yet). If it goes bad any time soon, I will up date this review to reflect that.
