Just returned from 7 days kayaking in Alaska.Jacket kept me dry during heavy rains and high winds.

Haven't paddled with it yet, but after running a hose over it for 5 minutes, it kept me completely dry. Warm, blocks the wind well, and is relatively comfortable for what it is. I was concerned that I was too big? for the medium, but I just made it with a fleece layer inside. I'm 5'6" 168 for reference. The arm pockets are however, quite difficult to navigate, you really need a 3rd hand, it could be better situated.

I should fit in a large, but ordered XL to fit over a sweatshirt for cooler weather. The XL did not have enough freedom of movement, so I returned the XL and ordered a 2X. The 2X was still marginal on freedom of movement. I'm not a big guy ( 5', 11" ). I should fit comfortably in an XL with a sweatshirt and barely fit in the 2X.

This is my second paddle jacket from NRS. (I kind of expanded myself in the middle so I had to go up a size.) It works great and has options for opening and closing as you warm up or the wind and rain gets worse. Great arm room for pit flex. Zippers are a little difficult to get to and use. If you like really baggy order at least one size larger probably 2 larger.

This is a fantastic paddling jacket. XL fits me perfectly (5’10” 200 lb male) with plenty of freedom of motion. As all things NRS, this is extremely well-made. The neoprene wrist cuffs are particularly effective and comfortable. The orange color looks even better in person than in the picture. I’m very pleased with this purchase.
