These bits come right out of the box nice and sharp, true to their sizes, and ready to work. I bought these because I was tired of constantly replacing cheap drill bits and constantly sharpening cheap drill bits. These have not disappointed so far. Although I'm primarily a woodworker, I do use traditional split point twist drills on occasion for metals, and where brad-point bits aren't always the best choice. These have drilled fast, with great chip clearance, in steel and in wood and have been very good. I'm hoping that this is the last index I have to buy for quite some time. I'll comment on longevity later when I've had them a bit longer.

Had to drill out a suspension bolt after twisting off its head. Usually an unpleasant job. Filed the stub flat, centerpunched it and the 3/8" bit went through 3/4" of steel w/ out any complaints. I have had bad luck w/ lower cost bits on similar jobs and now use these exclusively. Brush on cutting oil and remove chips frequently and you will have a long-lasting, well-performing bit set.

A nice set of drill bits, not cheap metal or copper. Work well after many uses.

Very nice USA product and SO MUCH BETTER than most all of the typical name brand retail junk offered. My only wish would be a plastic case instead of the metal case. The metal is heavy and bulky to pack or carry.

I've always bought these in singles locally, but decided to get the set. They are superior to any bit I've ever purchased at a big box store. I have never actually known what "jobber" bits were, but I think it designates longer than these "mechanic" length bits. Not a problem for me, but maybe useful knowledge for a prospective buyer.Anyway, these bits are worth the cost if you are working with metal.

The quality that you would expect from Norseman. A nice set of USA made drill bits that don't dull or break after using them a couple times, like cheaper overseas made bits. They should cover most of your drilling needs except maybe some of your more extreme conditions where one of there cobalt or carbide bits is needed.
