Overall I’d say this portafilter is pretty well made and seemed to be quality. However the locking lugs on it are too thin so it requires you to really crank it down tight, otherwise water will come shooting through the gasket when the portafilter pressurizes. For reference I’m using this on an Oscar 2, with an IMS basket. Leaks happened with both the basket it came with and two other IMS baskets.

Después de más de 10 años de hacer expresso en casa e ir subiendo de nivel con las máquinas de expresso, actualmente tengo una Oscar II Nuova Simonelli, nunca pude reproducir el mismo café como lo hago ahora.Mi gran problema eran la canalización del café que influenciaba en el sabor del producto final. Cuando adquirí este porta filtro sin fondo, descubrí que a pesar de cuidar la técnica, había canalización. Esto se corrigió en muy poquito tiempo y ahora el café sabe siempre igual y con un excelente cuerpo, aroma y sabor. Si eres fanático del expresso DEBES adquirir este producto.

This is a very solid portafilter. It’s stainless steel but weighs in at 424.6 g, just shy of a pound. The black plastic handle is easily removed and replaced by a custom handle of your choosing. The threaded rod connecting the handle and filter holder is a separate piece, so a replacement handle can be male or female, though the threads do need to match (M10, I think).I got this hoping it would work on my Gaggia Classic Pro. I thought it might because I read somewhere that GCP and Nuova filters were interchangeable, and that was reinforced hy my simple-minded observation that both accept two-winged portafilters.Unfortunately, I was wrong. This does not fit on the GCP.
