Product Description

NT-H2 3.5g Header

NT-H2 is the further improved second generation of Noctua’s award-winning hybrid thermal compound. Combining the iconic NT-H1’s proven features, superb ease-of-use and renowned long-term stability with a novel, fine-tuned formula of micro particles for even better thermal performance, NT-H2 is an enthusiast-grade paste for the highest demands. Whether it’s air- or water-based cooling, CPU or GPU applications, overclocking or silent systems: NT-H2 will consistently deliver outstanding results and thanks to the included cleaning wipes, it is just as easy to remove as to apply.

nt-h2

Next-generation performance

Further improving the award-winning NT-H1, NT-H2 uses a new, fine-tuned mixture of metal oxide micro-particles for even lower thermal resistance and reduced bond-line thickness at typical mounting pressures. This allows it to achieve even better performance in most application scenarios.

NA-CW1

Easy to clean with included wipes

The 3.5g pack of NT-H2 includes three large NA-CW1 cleaning wipes that are pre-moistened with an isopropyl alcohol mixture and make it child’s play to remove: Simply wipe off the paste from the CPU and the base of the cooler using one of the wipes and you’re done!

Non-conductive

Not electrically conductive, non-corroding

While some high-end thermal compounds and pads are risky to use due to their electrical conductivity or corroding properties, there’s no risk of short-circuits with NT-H2 and it’s completely safe to use with any type of CPU cooler, regardless of whether it’s made from copper or aluminium and whether it’s nickel-plated or not.

Excellent long-term stability

Excellent long-term stability

NT-H2 unique formula is highly stable over time, even after longer periods of usage. It can be stored at room temperature for at least 3 years and due to the compound’s exceptional curing, bleeding, dry-out and thermal cycling characteristics, it can be used on the CPU for 5 years or more.

NT-H2 3.5g scope

3.5g package for 3-20 applications

Sufficient for around 3-20 applications (depending on the size of the CPU or GPU, e.g. around 3 applications for large CPUs such as TR4 and around 20 for small CPUs such as LGA1151), the classic 3.5g packaging size is ideal for most users who only install coolers every now and then.

nt-h1

Easy to apply

Thanks to its excellent spreading properties, there is no need to manually spread NT-H2 before installing the cooler: Simply apply some paste onto the CPU (see instructions for details), put on the heatsink and you’re ready to go!

This is by far my favorite thermal paste to work with. It's a proven formula that will give you solid temperatures when used properly (as in don't over apply!). However, there are many pastes that can do this cheaper. What this paste has going for it over others is how easy it is to spread, and honestly I have had good luck just applying a generous amount to the center of a processor and letting the heatsink to do the work for me. Some might cry that there are better ways to apply paste, but when I compared temps between methods, it made a negligible difference in practice. If you are really price conscious but want something similarly easy to work with, I recommend checking out the NT-H1 formula as it's nearly as good and is also very easy to apply.

TL;DR:Noctua NT-H2 delivers impressive cooling performance at a price that undercuts the competition. The included cleaning wipes are a nice touch, and it's non-conductive, giving peace of mind. It shaved off 4-6°C compared to previous thermal pastes, making it a smart choice for demanding CPUs and GPUs. Highly recommended for anyone wanting better cooling without emptying their wallet.Full Review:The Noctua NT-H2 3.5g thermal paste comes with three large cleaning wipes, which is awesome. You get plenty of paste – enough for multiple applications. Honestly, I was hoping for something effective, and its performance is surprising given the price. The paste itself looks like your typical silver compound. It's non-conductive, which is great because I don't have to worry about accidental spills frying my components, especially with some of the heat spreader designs out there. Plus, it doesn't require any “cure” time. I just applied it, mounted the cooler, and was good to go. Instant results are my kind of thing.I saw a significant temperature drop – around 4-6°C – compared to other pastes I've used. I push my hardware hard, especially my array of modded Quadro RTX GPUs. They tend to run hot even with proper airflow. The temperature drop was consistent across all the GPUs I re-pasted, which was a huge relief. It performs nearly as well as Kryonaut. Maybe Kryonaut *might* have an edge of 1°C or two under extreme load, but the cost difference makes Noctua the smarter choice for me.Basically, the Noctua NT-H2 is a fantastic performer that won't break the bank. You get more paste and the cleaning wipes, all for less than a smaller tube of Kryonaut. Unless you need liquid metal, this is easily the best deal I've found. I'm definitely sticking with this stuff.---Product: Noctua NT-H2 3.5g, Thermal Computer Paste incl. 3 Cleaning WipesASIN:

All of the top TIM pastes are within 1 degrees C of each other. Read any recent thermal paste roundup and the same half-dozen brands will be in the top 6 places, so you can base your purchase on value and ease of application, unless you are overclocking to the max (in which case you are probably not using air cooling anyway). I have recently used NT-H1 as well as Thermal Grizzly and could not discern any difference in performance. IIRC, NT-H2 was at the top of the pastes, and Thermal Grizzly was less than a degree behind. However, TG price per gram is WAY higher. My current 12th Gen Intel Rig is not overclocked and I cannot get the CPU temp to break 60C with P95.

This is probably one of the best deals in terms of thermal pastes that you can buy right now. Not only do you get 3.5g of thermal paste for the cost (which is at least 5-8 applications worth of paste on average), but it also comes with 3 high quality, large cleaning wipes. Additionally, for the value you are getting, this thermal paste is also nearly as performant as some of the top thermal paste brands such as Thermal Grizzly's Kryonaut. The paste itself is nothing special appearance wise as it's your standard silvery thermal paste you all know and love, but it is also fortunately non-conductive as well as having no necessary cure time. This is great as it means it won't short out your CPU if it spills over the sides (which is a common occurrence on the new AM5 Ryzen heat spreader design) and it means the paste will be at full effectiveness right out of the gate without any waiting or paste burn-in time. All you have to do is apply the paste, mount the cooler, and that's it. No worries about shorts or high temps with this paste (as long as you still have an adequate heatsink that is).Regardless, I was getting some impressive 5-8°C temperature reductions compared to the MX-4 paste I had been using previously. This is especially important as I am using a Ryzen 7700X with this paste, which in itself already gets really hot regardless of the cooler used. I won't go into detail about the coolers as this review is about the paste itself, and the temperature reductions were similar on each cooler I tried when compared to the MX-4. The more interesting part of this review, however, is when I compared it to Kryonaut. This paste and Kryonaut are incredibly close in temp performance, usually with Kryonaut about 1-2°C cooler in some cases, but that's close enough for me to say that this NT-H2 paste has near equal performance to the much more costly Kryonaut paste.Overall, this is an incredibly high performing paste and an excellent value. For just a little more in cost compared to the base 1g kit of Kryonaut, you not only get nearly the same level of performance, but you also get 3.5x more thermal paste and 3 high quality cleaning wipes. In the end, I would highly recommend getting this thermal paste as I personally believe it to be the best "all-around" deal that is currently available. It meets all the standards that I have, and it's difficult for me to choose any other paste over this one unless you want to move up to liquid metal options.

As with everything on my PC I buy, I check many reviews and tests for it before purchasing.I had my heart set on liquid metal TIM (thermal interface material) but after reading about the etching, staining and worry about long term impact on the CPU heatspreader and or heatsink I was not interested any longer.I wanted a thermal compound that lasted a long time without having the hassle and risk involved with taking your PC apart to reapply compound.I had run Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound for 10 years with my I5 2500K CPU which was overclocked quite high to 4.8GHz. Temperatures were always very low and I never once had to reapply the paste, this lasted longer than even specified by Noctua, but they do not lie or fudge numbers like some companies do. Noctua are brutally honest and that I love. Their customer service is also very good. With the modern CPUs of today with their tightly packed, high core counts, it's vital to remove that heat as quickly as possible. With a poor performing compound your CPU isn't going to be boosting as well and it's going to be running warmer, making for a shorter lifespan.Noctua NT-H2 appeared to offer the best performance whilst being safe for all components and having a long lifespan. I've read too many reports of the MX compounds having high peak temperatures even after trying many different application methods and that put me off it, even though it was very cheap.Talking about pricing, I do feel this is quite high price but you do get the wipes included too - although I'd rather they offered a version without the pads too... Perhaps a smaller pack would be good as well as the amount of compound in this would last many applications. The included wipes are very large and come with tons of alcohol soaked in them, plan to clean a lot at the same time as it's very overkill for one CPU and cooler! They are very good quality however. The temps in my system are lower than what most are getting online so I think this compound does help, let's hope it lasts as long as the NT-H1 and I'll be very happy!I ignored Noctua and used the X application method as looking online this gives the best spread on common CPU sizes.Highly recommended.
