It's amazingly convenient, being able to mount things directly to a 15mm tubing rig. That's what the cheese rod does. It's even more useful if you get an M12 to 1/4"-20, or M12 to 3/8"-16 connector for the end of the rod, giving you one more attach point. If you're building DSLR rigs from 15mm tubing you already know this, so what YOU need to know is that this particular cheese rod is very sturdy, and weighs what it should in order to have secure mounting points.

Mount holes are not accurate to the pictures!Ordered the 5" rod. 15min with a file and angle grinder, and I made it work on my rig, but come on, just update the product pictures...

I added a multitool to the cheese plate via a 1/4-20 screw and quick release plate, but there are plenty more possibilities. It makes this just as functional as a regular rod, except more versatile. Great idea.
