This is a lightweight handle with similarly lightweight build. The chuck is a bit rough out of the box. It works fine for standard needle shanks of approx 1/8" - although you'll need pliers or rock-hard fingers to get it tight. I don't care because I buy one of these per file, lock it in, and never take it out. If you plan to swap files, I highly recommend using some steel wool (or one of those needlers) to smooth out the chuck to improve the action. That said, these will not hold up to rough use. The cap that holds the chuck to the wood handle has only average strength and can be twisted or popped loose with rough handling. I'm talking prying or things you really shouldn't be doing with a needle file, but just be aware. If you want a high quality handle, you're going to pay a lot more. If you want a simple set to put handles on all your needlers, these work fine. Also: While these are NOT the same as the other version on Amazon that costs 60% more, they are pretty dang close. The others are a bit better quality, but same construction, and same basic performance. If you're looking to save money on simple handles, get these. If you want a tiny bit more fit, finish, and feel, get those. But these are in the same class so neither is going to satisfy if you need high quality handles.

A brass collet is what makes this nice. No aluminum to wear out. The handle is nicely contoured and comfortable in use. Sized correctly according to the job it will do. Nicely made in India.

Nicely made tool, but the collet doesnt fit my needle files and needs to be drilled out a little bit. The shoulder below the ferrule has a sharp corner that needs to be softened. I find it to be more comfortable after cutting an inch off the end so it's buren-lengthFor the price point it's better than I expected, especially since the Grobet model costs twice as much and it's identical in every way (I bought both to compare)

large enough to get a good grip, yet ergonomic for comfort in many positions. Excellent workmanship and materials. I now have six and I'll get more so that I don't have to bother changing files. Well worth the money. They fit 1/8 inch round file tangs. Thank you greatly for easing the strain on my hands during long "sessions".

I use these with standard Nicholson needle files and they work well. Much cheaper than using the pin vice Shaviv makes

I really like these little handles. I use them to hold my fine files and they do so nicely. I also use them to hold grinding dremel equivalent bits to hand sand with the bits and it holds those nicely as well. It is easy to tighten or loosen and I have had one for years without problems. I liked it enough to buy a second.

This is a great handle for use on needle files. It makes them much more ergonomic. They are a pain relief for me as well, as I've severe carpel tunnel syndrome in BOTH hands. Too many years of turning screwdrivers and wrenches. Also works as a larger size pin vice.
