I have made 3 projects on this: ropes of varying length. The ropes are strong and stretchy, great for tying in a costume or to replace pajama pant strings. Or for my daughter's case, adventures. Great for teaching children to use, fits their hands well. It can handle some force, being a flexible material that will splinter before it breaks.

This is easy to use and the horn is a durable material. It fits nicely in my hand to work with.

would have liked it a couple inches bigger, but does the job, light weight is great

Very nice little lucet if you could use it. Mine came with a crack on one of the upper posts that catches the thread if you try to use it. That crack makes a snag on some threads, and difficult to use no matter what. I suspect quality control is not good with this company.

This is bone, not plastic. The holes are sized for cord made from #10 crochet cotton and tiny seed beads. But it is easy to drill the holes out to a bigger size. Other shaping, such as tapering the forks or narrowing the waist to hold more cord, is easily done with sanding or filing, so you can precisely customize this great little tool. The finish is high-gloss, so thread clears the forks quickly, for using speed techniques like the Ziggy method. The weight is nice and heavy for the small size, which helps maintain even tension. Easily slips into the pocket of anything, so having a few of them in various places (car, backpack, coat pocket, etc.) means you’re never again stuck waiting somewhere with nothing to do! Love this little lucet!

This tool was smaller than what I thought it was going to be but very easy to use. Made my first cord with it. Can’t wait to try different types of cording.

It is awfully pretty. But... I have large hands and arthritis so the size and smoothness is a drawback for me. I could not learn how to make a cord with this lucet because it is so small. I ordered a larger, plain wood version and the problem was immediately solved.

This is my first lucet. I opted for the bone one, and yes, it is bone, you can tell by the smell when you sand it. Since the ends of the tines are blunt I rounded them with a Dremel to make it easier for the loops to slide over.It is a pretty small lucet; I've been using it fine to make cord out of worsted weight yarn, but I suspect a slightly larger one would be more comfortable for me. However, it's well made and satisfying to the touch.

It's small and feels great in my small hand. My only concern is the tops of the prongs being squared off. They are not sharp but not pleasant to run my thumb across. A little sanding and I think that this will be my new favorite.
