Absolute love this bareback pad. My mare is a 14.2 hand Morgan and it fit her. This would not work on a pony much smaller than that. I had the girth almost on the tightest holes on both sides to make it fit safely. Super soft lining for the horse and the pad is very comfortable to ride in.

I bought this for a small nine year old girl to ride around on my horse, but the pad is stiffer than her legs. Hard nylon, so a bit slippery as well.An adult would be able to use pad with out the stiffness being an issue.The fuzzy part that is next to the horse is very nice.

I'm very happy with this pad. It was very comfy and sticky without being excessive (if I wanted not to feel the horse I'd ride in a saddle). I felt like it provided enough padding that I wasn't worried about my horse's back if I bounced slightly and it was grippy enough that I was able to stick with her cantering and making small circles. The pad stayed in place as I rode and I didn't feel like it was going to slip or slide back. The girth that it came with was big enough for my rather large mare, but I'm not sure it will work if your horse wears a girth size bigger than 52".

Had to return this. Iot's a very nice pad-I think. I never got to ride in it. I have a girthy Icelandic mare and this did not fit. I put it on the tightest hole and it was still a rather loose fit--not safe for riding. I don't think a bareback pad has to as tight as a saddle, but it definitely needs to be more snug this was.The pad was thick and I think the faux suede would be sticky enough. It's not super sticky and depending on what pants you are wearing, you might slip a bit if you are not a well balanced rider.The handle is just floppy nylon and hard to grasp in a hurry.See my horse in the pics--I am 5'8"
