I just got this today. I installed it and went for a short ride. I've also recently got thinner pedals for power transfer and ground clearance. I was concerned that I may loose leverage going from 175mm to 152mm. However dropping two chain rings seems to make up for it. I feel more powerful and comfortable making smaller circles. I'm thinking about trying a larger chain ring but it feels great. For this price you should give it a shot. My 3x crank also has a 38T ring and I still feel better than using the same gearing.

Recently converted my girlfriend's hybrid road bike to a 1x flat bar gravel bike and couldn't be happier with these cranks. They look amazing and since she's 4'11 she's no longer riding 170mm cranks on an XS (same size cranks I have on my 54 which is crazy). For context I purchased 152mm cranks with 38t chainrings.

These seem like some really good cranks. I converted my drive train to a 1x so the 152mm length gave some weight savings and more pedal clearance vs the set my bike came with. Also wanted the 104bcd style for ease of chainring replacement. As another stated, it is so difficult to find shorter cranks and I'm so glad to come across these as I'm not ready to invest in short cranks that will fit a hollowtech bb. Plus I'm 5'1" and now my heels arent kicking my rear everytime my leg is at the top of the pedal stroke.

This was a good value crank for my son’s Giant TCX 24” cyclocross bike. That bike came with a 32T crankset with normal teeth and was geared too low for my liking and had some chain drops. That crank did NOT have a spider so I had to replace the whole crank rather than just a new chainring. This works well. Fit and finish is at least as good as what Giant supplied OEM. Crank arms are short enough that a kid can use them. Included 36T chainring seems decent and has fine chain retention. If I choose to change it later 104BCD chainrings are easy to find. However, mounting with the 119mm bottom bracket that bike came with pushed the chainline way too far out and gave a wide Q factor. I put a 103mm BB on as a replacement which brought these crank arms tight, but still spinning freely, to the 68mm threaded shell. Chainline looks perfect with the chainring mounted on the inside of the spider aligning with the 4th or 5th gear of the 8 speed cassette. 107-110 may work for other bikes but for me 103 was correct. In short, seems to work well but you may need to play with axle length and chainring mounting location to get a good chainline.

There are very few options for 152mm square tapered cranksets, especially in aluminum. This is well made considering it is basically a no name and all aluminum where with most budget bikes usually come with steel cranksets. It looks better and sheds respectable unsprung weight. I did this to convert my son's 24" Mongoose Durham to a 1x7 (was 3x7 21 speed). I bought it with the 34tooth, but ended up swapping for a Deckas 32T for easier peddling. Neither the 34 or 32 had any issues with the chain clearing, although if doing a similar swap, use the frame side mounting option, not the crank side, to get the chain line correct. Another person did a similar swap on the same bike and mentioned it shed a couple pounds. It is a quite noticeable difference, but when measured, is only about 1.2 lbs total weight savings. Substantial for a 24" bike, but thought I would clarify actual benefits. Overall great purchase if looking to do a 1x conversion.

Muy difícil de encontrar esta medida de bielas para bici de Niño. Esta muy bien y es de aluminio, lo que la hace ligera. Excelente para convertir la bici de mi hijo de 2x8 a 1x10.

Quick summary- feels good quality, looks clean, they bend out from the frame slightly farther than the stock cranks on my bike but doesn't feel different.Tips- My base model Rockhopper had 175mm cranks but the 170mm is virtually the same. Remember you will need to buy a crank removal tool. The chain ring can go either on the outside or inside, I needed to put it on the inside to help with my chain line. The narrow wide teeth are wide all the way to the tip of the tooth, if I were running 11 or 12 gears in the back with a thinner chain I would think about getting a chain ring that tapers to a thinner tooth tip.

This worked great and took just minutes to install (with the right tools). My son really likes the extra small ring gear and didn't notice the slightly longer cranks (from 140 mm to 150 mm).

This was a fun 1x upgrade for my kid’s Cannondale 24. It has a ‘SRAM-like’ thick/thin chain ring, which successfully prevents chain derailments. The crank arms have quality threads for pedal install. With “proper” installment it runs smooth, but it is not an ideal design. If you tighten the chain ring bolts to a reasonable level, the teeth of the chain ring push into the spider of the crank arm, which causes the chain to immediately derail. You can see in the photo how the chain rides on the chain ring below the spider. As a result, you can only tighten the bolts “snug” to avoid this issue. I used blue locktight on the bolts to prevent them from backing out and have not had any problems. The crank and chainring arrive detached with no install instructions. The crank also does not come with any bolt covers. The one shown in the photo is from the old crank. So, there are some drawbacks, but I still think it is a good product for a kid’s bike.
