I have a Movo brand shotgun mic that actually isn’t that old, but it is wired. I don’t use it that much because I always reached for my wireless options. With this little inexpensive device, I can make that wired mic wireless. It’s super easy to hook up and the sound quality is great. What’s not to love!?!

I like seeing new gadgets popup on the market that could potentially shake things up a bit. I like understanding my equipment and not needing to think, but technology is always getting better so why not use it? This made me think of lapel mics at first and how I probably wouldn't use it (as I don't really use lapel mics). However, being able to reposition the microphone from on top the camera to somewhere else is pretty neat. Also, being able to choose which microphone you want to turn into the wireless one, is also very handy.I like this because lapel mics just don't capture the full dynamic range of the environment, whereas a shotgun microphone gives you more in that low end. This particular model is meant to work with your phone (USB-C connection) though it looks like they also offer a 3.5mm receiver for mirrorless cameras as well. I will probably be picking up one of those next.

this comes with everything you need to make your iphone15 and above have a wireless shotgun. this also works with certain androids. you can't plug it into anything else but those type of phones. this would be amazing if they had one for cameras dslr and mirrorless. the sound comes out nice no interference no loss of connections.

I have several Rode mics with 3.5mm outputs. With this clever device, I can avoid the hassle and limitations of dealing with cables. All you need to do is plug the tiny Movo transmitter into the 3.5mm output on the mic and plug the Movo recever into the appropriate connector. You can choose between TRS and TRRS connections. In my case, I have the Type-C connector, so I can only use it with my iPad Pro and Android devices. Someday maybe, I'll try it with a Lightning connector adapter. The transmitter has a noise cancelltion function which I couldn't adequately test.In use, audio quality is good with no noticeable latency. I didn't have transmitter and receiver separated by very much, but the vendor says they can be separated by 164 feet.In all, this is a fun and useful gadget, if you have compatible microphones.Jerry

I have a few shotgun mics and got tired of having to drag cables around to use them, or strap them places. This adapter solves that problem altogether, and I wish I'd have found it sooner. Turn any 3.5mm mic into a wireless mic with this device, and the best part is that it's essentially plug and play with my camera and phone. I have had no issues with this yet, but have not tried to test the range. Quality is as great as wired so far.

It works, and that is a good thing, but the signal strength was not impressive, so not as good as it could be.The short shotgun microphone has a wire from it to the camera / smartphone anyway, what I was hoping for this one is that I could get the microphone CLOSER to me, and not actually ten feet away or such on the camera / smartphone... this would have been cool, but the signal strength just wasn't there for my use.I have a number of other uses that may work, but it would not be as intended for this setup.Again, short answer - it worked, just not "strong" enough of a signal for my taste.Four Stars.

Works, but I do worry when I get far from it, I'm always worried the signal will drop out especially if I'm outside with possible interruptions
