My original OEM YZ85 intake boot had some surface cracks in it, so I was trying to be proactive and replace it. This new boot fit fine, but upon starting I was greeted with really high revs and an inability to idle. Upon further inspection, the mating surfaces between the boot and the intake do NOT seal (even with the gasket in place). I could literally see sunlight between the intake and the boot. I tried several times to get it to seal, with no luck. This boots mating surface is not nearly as rigid as the OEM. I put my original boot back on and things were back to normal. You *could* use some RTV sealant here to get a seal, but I would prefer not to have to deal with that. Will be requesting a return.

I installed this on my sons YZ85. the motor went nuts and started to diesel as the intake boot was warped or bent and let to much air into the engine. I had to disconnect the fuel and spark plug to switch it of. Dont buy it, it could be dangerous to your young rider. I ended up putting an OEM back on. Engine ran like it should.

Extremely disappointed with this piece. It doesn’t fit snug like it should (I had a Yamaha mechanic do work, this is what he says...& he works on em all day.)
