Have this on my ranch AR. Works fine. For the price, works great. Glass is clear, holds zero, illuminated reticle is sharp and helpful in low light, field of view at 8x is not bad. Just need something for pigs and coyotes and this fits the bill at a very reasonable price.

Holds zero. I have used it for an entire hunting season. I am not soft with it and it is still hold zero and great groups. Functions like a scope of much higher price point.

Functional and affordable. That's about all I need to say. If you want the best of the best, keep looking, but if you need an LPVO that does the job without breaking the bank buy this one. I think you'll be very happy. I am!

I had looked at multiple 1-6x and 1-8x scopes in this price range. I really liked the BDC-B1 Reticle. This scope seems heavier than its counterparts (Tru-glo and Firefield) but seems rock solid. The illumination is not daylight bright, but the unlit reticle is perfect for those times. In low light or a dark target, the illumination is perfect. This is the first LPVO scope I have purchased and it took me a while to get the eye relief just right on my AR, but it seems perfect now. I would absolutely buy this scope again.

Excellent quality of view, good adjustment range and it is daylight bright.I gave it one star less because it is only RED.No green option.Still, it is a keeper for the performance alone.I have a few of Monstrum's optics.Great value with the included mount, this is worth the price.

I'll be in the field with this optic soon. (To hit steel and paper! Geeze!... and maybe a watermelon or two) After it arrived I was absolutely shocked to see how clear the glass was for the price point. I get a small hint I'm looking through an optic at 1x because it's more of a 1.1-1.2x at the bottom range, but it's so clear that it might as well be a red dot. The eye box is an added reminder, but at the lowest setting it's forgiving enough that cheek well doesn't need to be all that consistent, you just need to get there. It has some heft, but didn't turn my rifle into a pig, and it feels sturdy enough that I'm not terribly worried about durability. If you handed this to me without any brand markings, I would tell you it was from Vortex running $400-500. That's how certain I am that this will be an excellent LPVO for my GPR. Mind you, I was an early adopter of Vortex, and I completely expect Monstrum to follow a similar trajectory after seeing the value per dollar on this. I will update in approximately 1000 rounds. Give me about a year or two, obviously I'm operating on a budget to even be looking at an LPVO at this price point. I know Amazon tends to bundle reviews into the family of a product, so this is specifically the Monstrum Banshee 1-8X with the MX1 reticle. I honestly don't like the reticle as much as the BDC B1, but for $25 off I can compromise and just close zero X/300yards and not worry too much about the parabola at practical ranges. Besides, I'm primarily going to be running an abnormal grain cartridge with this rifle, so the BDC probably wouldn't be useful to begin with. I think their BDC reticles are based on 55gr with 5.56 velocity and a 20" barrel. Consider that as you will.

Disclaimer: when I purchased this optic it was just under $150, I see the price went up since then and I don't know if I would rate it as highly at the current price.First of all, I bought this optic for my 22 caliber air gun to replace the Monstrum 3x prism sight I originally had on it. The mount that came with it was pretty good, although the little torx wrenches are a nightmare to deal with. Came with both front and back optic covers as well as two batteries. The optic is sharp, however, for the close range targets I use it for at ~25yds, I find the crosshairs to become blurry, despite the diopter being adjusted to compensate. At longer ranges it was less of an issue.Honestly I think for an air gun, maybe even a 223 for a range toy or hunting, this optic is a great buy. Not sold on the idea of using it for self-defense or duty, but its still a really good sight.I'd probably give it more of a 4.5 star review though but that's not an option. I also had to replace the offset ring mount as I needed something to mount directly to 3/8'' dovetail and not picatinny.
