These bowls are great for soup! The dual-handles are nice to hold the bowl and they don't radiate heat like the rest of the bowl. Each one is thick enough to keep soup (or other things) warm. While smaller than our previous soup bowls, these are more in line with how much we are supposed to actually eat.

I was hesitant to order these MONITO French Onion Soup Crocks after a disappointing experience with a previous MONITO plate set. However, I'm so glad I took a chance on these bowls because I needed oven-safe bowls for my onion soup guilty pleasures. Visually, they are quite stunning. The colors are rich and deep, and the smooth, elegant finish speaks to a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. No uneven, jagged, edges or wobbly food balancing going on here as previously encountered from my MONITO plate experience.While is boasts stackable design I will have to say that stacking them is not as practical as they do take up a lot of space and they don't nestle inside of each other as well as one would like, but of course that also has to do with the handles. The handles are a nice touch. They feel sturdy and comfortable to hold. However, my biggest surprise was their size. They are significantly smaller than I anticipated for a "soup crock." While the 16 oz capacity is stated, they feel more like a cup in hand. I did take a 16 oz measuring cup and poured water into the bowl, in which a few oz overflowed easily out. So even if 16 ounces would fit to the rim of the bowl, you would never fill a bowl of hot soup to the brink of the edge, and risk it spilling over or pouring out of it like that. I had to confirm with actual measurements because I thought my perspective in volume perceiving was off. I have been cooking for a long time so eyeing measurements is something you get a knack off doing. So 1 star deduction for the false advertisement of that. For a full meal of a filling bowl of French onion soup, these are definitely too small. They would be perfect for a side of soup or perhaps a very kids size small portion of cereal. I don't really think it appropriate for a mini casserole or something of that nature.I haven't yet tested their oven durability for broiling/baking cheese and bread, which is a crucial aspect for French onion soup. So far, they are living up to the microwave and dishwasher safe claims, as advertised.Despite the size discrepancy, I'm genuinely impressed with the quality and aesthetics of these bowls. MONITO has redeemed themselves in my eyes with this set. No longer will I pass on item offerings from them just based on my last experience. I'm now eagerly hoping for a larger size option in these same beautiful colors and a matching plate set.
