Not the best back rest. But you get what you paid for. Moreno Valley, CA to Glendale, AZ was not to bad due to the back rest.

Everything is great about this backrest except one big, glaring issue: There's no mechanical connection between the bracket and the cushion frame. The instructions tell you if the fit isn't snug to wrap the tongue with electrical tape to make it snug. ?! Really? I drilled and tapped a hole and used a 1/4 - 20 bolt as a set screw. If it came with a connection like that it would be 5/5 stars. Tread carefully if you don't have the ability to do something similar.

It works ok as is. I drilled and tapped the sleeve of the bracket to 1/4-20 and used a knurled seat bolt as a lock screw to move the backrest forward in the sleeve and make it stay. It also works as a theft deterant as you cant just walk by and lift it out easily.I bent the backrest bracket some to make the pad more perpendicular to the seat, now it feels better then before because I was hitting just the bottom edge of the pad, due to it laying way too far back at a weird angle. Its still a bit springy for my tastes but I'm not sure how to remedy that yet. Give it time I'm a fabricator so I'll think of something.All in all not bad, though a little pricey for how flimsy it is. If this wears out or if I need a new one for whatever reason I wont buy it again.

Bolt pattern is correct but lean angle presses into rider seat excessively, possibly damaging seat studs at rear. I had to manually bend the “stem” toward rear. The slip-in pad is rather loose in the receiver, will have to wrap with rubber or elec tape for snug fit. But very comfortable and plain pad will look good with any type of seat.
