I like Mitutoyo tools. They have been around for many years and are in general of very good quality. This test indicator is no exception. It is very well made and functions perfectly. I bought it at a different place, but leave my review here because I want to help in keeping Amazon review system the best.The point on this indicator is relatively long, non-magnetic and has a ruby ball at the tip. A 3/8" stainless steel dovetail stem is a good standard accessory. It does not require any tools for attaching it to indicator.The storage box is made of black plastic and has molded cavities for the indicator and 2 attachments. However the indicator is not secure in the box, it has too much play in all directions. The box is way too big for this little indicator and takes too much room in storage. I have several Swiss made test indicators and their boxes are half the size of the Mitutoyo plus the tools are very secure in them. It is a shame Mitutoyo could not do better in this case. This is the reason I took one star off my rating.

Perfect product, competitive pricing. We use this is a commercial setting and they never fail us. We also have a local calibrator if needed, but these last quite a while in our line of work without any maintenance. Buy good tools and you'll get good results.
