I make T-shirt quilts, and I get bored with the standard square in a square setting. The Maple Island Quilts patterns provide extra interest to an otherwise expected quilt setting.

This is a perfect pattern for making Quilts of Valor using “picture” fabric. Some of the nicest patriotic fabrics, like the attached example of WWII fighter planes, are not a print that can be cut into small pieces. This pattern is perfect to show off the larger patriotic prints.

Big Quilt Blocks make short work of creating full, queen or king size quilts. Also includes directions for nine inch blocks that is perfect size for lap, baby or toddler size quilt. It is a very versatile pattern. he directions are well written and easy to work with.

Very easy to make this quilt. I usually hate repeat blocks since most quilts have up to 100 in them, but since this block is so large, I only had 30. A queen size (which is what I made), will fit a queen size bed like a bedspread, and this same size will fit a king size bed like a comforter (with approx. 10" of drop on each side). I loved this pattern, it was very easy to follow, the directions are great! Many ways you can put this together. I'll definitely do another one. The one I made I used all batik fabrics.
