The original power supply over heated and died after several years of use.I purchased a third party vendor replacement and within a few months it started humming and intermittently shutting off.I decided to buy this Official MS power supply and I am glad I did. its super quiet and only gets slightly warm to the touch.Believe me, its worth the money to get Official MS power supply.

Don't go with a cheap knockoff - get one of these. Believe me, after 2 off-brand replacements (My original one worked but developed a loud fan noise, the first replacement failed within a week, the second was noisier out-of-the-box than the original one had become), I bought one of these and was incredibly happy. DO IT!

Perfect! Real deal.When our power supply was fried by a lighting strike, we were thrilled it wasn't the console that was destroyed, but disappointed when Microsoft wants nearly 1/3 the cost of the console and Kinect to replace just the power supply. (Hint Microsoft, this is what is called lack of OEM support and isn't appreciated by your customers. Unacceptable for such a large company.). That said, this 3rd party gets the picture. A quality OEM replacement at a reasonable price. Thank you for doing what Microsoft either can't or won't do!!Shipped quickly, arrived in new condition, and has been operating flawlessly since plugged in. We game hard, use online multi-player hosting, stream for entire days while binge-watching shows, and our console is rarely powered off except when we're sleeping or not home.This power supply has never faltered or had any issues. No reboots, no noisy fan or any issues. Would buy again if any of our power supplies were to become damaged again.

Buyer beware. Purchased this item, and became defective after first use. The only thing I can think of was a minor surge. I speculate this adapter is a shoddy knock off, as I tried to correct using the methods described in Microsofts support site and it became more and more suspicious.Ended up going through Microsoft directly. It was a slight challenge, but by going through support you can report your original Xbox adapter dysfunctional and you can send it in for a new one for $30. Or buy an entirely new one for $50 + S&H, which I ended up doing.I actually have never written a negative review before, and half the time don't listen to what reviewers have to say because they usually come off as divas. So I hope you find my review legitimate.Wanted this item as I have been traveling alot recently, and figured might as well take my xbox with me. Nothing wrong with my original adapter, but just wanted the ease of not having to untangle my entertainment center to get the power cord.

Come on Microsoft- you can do better than this! It's a black brick that will never win any style awards, but, so far it has done the job, however, it is noisy. I am aware of the fan running to the point that when the Xbox is switched off I unplug the PSU from the mains. I have had a European voltage/model, and it is as quiet as whisper even on hot days. Noise is a secondary issue, if it runs your Xbox without frying it, then it does fulfil its primary role.....Review updateLess than 5 months after purchase and this device has failed. A poor wiring connection from the psu body is to blame. Not good.

Works perfectly. Just like the original one I got with my xBox One a year ago. This IS authentic xBox. My old one decided to start making very loud noises a week or two ago. I got tired of the noise so I smashed it. Glad I found a new one!
