Pipe and tube fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. Compression fittings do not require tools or sealants, and are useful in installations where a heat source, such as a soldering torch, is prohibited. When purchasing fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size, and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness).

These work perfectly to fix a 3/8" transmission cooler line. The lines needed to be replaced on an old Silverado, as they were leaking from the crimp joint to the rubber hose. The new lines came in and when I got under the truck I realized that I was not going to be able to replace them without dropping the exhaust system and the transmission crossmember. The good news was there was no corrosion on the existing lines from the front of the engine rearward. I was able to cut the old lines in front of the vibration damper and use these compression fittings to match the new lines cut in the same place. Saved hours of work and sealed perfectly. Also priced very reasonably.

Perfect solution, had a pressure line coming from the hydraulic pump on a 1982 Kubota L245DT that was impossible to remove with the loader and other stuff installed. This coupling system allowed me to cleaning cut it in two, take the part that was leaking (the fitting end) and braze the leak and then used this coupling to join the two sides together since getting around the line would have been impossible to braze back together. Saved me a few hundred bucks and/or major time unbolting the loader and undoing lines to remove the loader and other parts of the tractors to remove the hard line I used this to repair.

Fortunately a YouTube video lead me to these couplings because there wasn’t an appliances parts and service place that could fix or even wanted to do even try. I had to replace an old angle supply valve under the kitchen sink and the Compression nut F&P has on their hose really doesn’t have the right threads for our American angle stops, so as you tighten it, the nut will pop off the threads on the supply valve. I used these couplings so I could cut the F&P supply line and install an actual American made compression nut - drilled out to accept the slightly larger metric supply line. I snapped a pic of the assembly order from a video. I was confused initially and this video clarified. I’ve determined one of my new lines is basically impossible to run without substantial disassembly. I’ve decided to cut the line in a predetermined location and use this item to repair the line. Hey, it’s a 20+ year old truck so I’m not getting crazy on this fixTurns out a similar fitting was used previously to repair another area of these cooling lines and was not the location of my leak. I’m replacing all the lines.I’ll post an update when I get it done.
